Willow Wood Hospice has welcomed the government’s renewed commitment to palliative and end-of-life care, while also calling for fairer and more sustainable funding for hospices.

A Stalybridge bingo club ended up giving out a Christmas present to remember as one of its players won a £50,000 jackpot.

Cosmo, which stands next to the town’s bus station, was abuzz when a lucky customer’s numbers came up.

A Hyde boxing club where the late Ricky Hatton started out is understood to be facing closure, prompting an urgent campaign in a bid to save it.

Hyde & District Amateur Boxing Club, formerly known as Luverlite, has served generations of young people and families across Tameside.

Now, with the club seemingly under threat of demolition, supporters fear the loss of what they describe as far more than just a gym.

Copley Academy, Silver Springs Primary Academy and Great Academy Ashton are carrying out a consultation on the proposed admissions arrangements for admission in 2027.

This consultation is required in line with paragraph 1.45 of the School Admissions Code, which states that admission authorities must consult on their admission arrangements at least once every 7 years, even if there have been no changes during that period

A mystery has been uncovered after a classic Dinky Toy car was found inside a Droylsden gas main that is being upgraded.

Shane Mulhern was operating the camera equipment at the project on Canberra Street when the unusual find was made.

What appears to be a Dinky Toys Daimler Scout Car, a die-cast model of a British light reconnaissance vehicle used during the Second World War made from 1942 until the 1960s, came into vision and was rescued.
