Denton and Audenshaw Rotary is preparing for a busy festive season, with members set to launch their annual Christmas charity collections throughout December.

The long-established club, which has been part of the local community since 1946, has supported countless local groups and organisations over the decades, as well as contributing to international projects and disaster-relief efforts.

Tameside families can look forward to a day filled with festive cheer as The Anthony Seddon Fund holds its Christmas Fair.

Free entry and a warm welcome for all ages will be guaranteed on Saturday, November 29.

It will run from 11am to 3pm at the charity’s base on George Street in Ashton-under-Lyne, with every penny raised helping to support vital mental health services across Tameside.

A north Tameside Explorer Scout unit is celebrating a packed first year after inspiring a wave of local teens to take on challenges, learn new skills and push themselves beyond their comfort zones.

Dovers Explorers, launched in 2024, have barely paused for breath since opening.

Their programme has taken them through everything from pioneering and outdoor cooking to media skills, team-building and even planning their own activities.

Stalybridge is gearing up for a double helping of festive harmony as two local choirs take to the stage on the same day for charity Christmas concerts.

The Willow Wood Hospice Choir and Tameside Community Voices will both be singing on Saturday, December 13.

The afternoon begins with the Willow Wood Hospice Choir, who will bring a programme of seasonal favourites and classic carols to Holy Trinity Church on Corporation Street at 2pm.
