A fresh addition to Hyde’s food scene is on the way, as Flame and Ice prepares to open its doors on Market Place.

The new eatery is taking over the former Pop double unit overlooking the square. While the restaurant had originally hoped to launch in June, work is still ongoing inside the premises, and an official opening date has yet to be confirmed.

Passengers who travel on the Ashton-under-Lyne tram line are being warned of upcoming weekend disruption.

It’s part of planned improvement works taking place across the Metrolink network.

On Sunday, October 5, tracks will be repaired along the Ashton line, which means there will be no trams operating between Ashton-under-Lyne and Etihad Campus.

An Audenshaw girl’s skill is going on display after she won a nationwide competition to design a bowling pin.

Aiza Nayyar came out on top of more than 250 entries to Hollywood Bowl’s contest.

Now the nine-year-old’s creation will take pride of place at the firm’s centre in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Not many people from Stalybridge can say they’ve had their work recognised on the world stage, but broadcaster Regan Tetlow has just joined that rare club.

The former Stalybridge resident has been awarded one of the highest accolades in air sports.

For Regan, who left the town back in 1999, has received an international medal from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI).

A mother has been celebrated by her Slimming World group after losing more than five stone in weight – and being crowned Woman of the Year 2025.

Motorists are set to face disruption on Mottram Moor over a series of weekends.

Contractors will be installing new low-pressure gas mains and carrying out electricity diversion works as part of the A57 Link Roads project.

National Highways say the essential utility works will reduce traffic to a single lane in each direction across four consecutive weekends.

Droylsden's much-loved volunteer group, Crimewatchers, marked its fifth anniversary with a lively dog show that brought together families, pets, and supporters for a day of celebration.

The event took place on Sunday, September 21st at The Kings Head, where local residents and dog lovers gathered for competitions, raffles, and a few very special guests.

Visitors were treated to an appearance from K-9, the iconic robot dog from Doctor Who, courtesy of Hyde Fundraisers, as well as Henry, the well-known Blue Peter dog, who attended with his owner.
