Something special is on the way...
What started as a simple idea among Ad Astra Electronic Radio listeners has turned into a full compilation. *Electronic Radio (Volume 1)* is finished: 12 tracks of electronic music and IDM, made by and for people around the station. It will probably be released through Bandcamp in October — digitally, at least to begin with.
And because a release like this really deserves something you can actually hold in your hands, I’m also working on a physical CD edition.
There’s always some demand for a physical release, simply because it’s cool to have something you can actually hold in your hands — something that looks good as well. A collection of audio files just can’t quite compete with that. I’m currently working on the artwork for the CD, which will come in a six-panel digipack. The CD will cost €15 excluding shipping, but for the moment it won’t be available through Bandcamp.
There’s currently quite a bit of confusion surrounding the new European PPWR/EPR packaging regulations. In practice, anyone selling commercially — for example through a platform like Bandcamp — may have to deal with packaging registration requirements when sending something like a CD from one EU country to another. For a tiny label, that’s simply not practical: it can be expensive, complicated, and at the moment the implementation is still rather unclear.
That doesn’t mean you can’t buy a CD — just that you won’t be able to buy one through a platform such as Bandcamp for now.
So, if you’re interested in a copy, send me a message via Facebook or Instagram.
