We have a wonderful spotlight in the May issue of Stamford Living/Rutland Living on – showcasing its rich history, remarkable alumni and exciting programme of performances.

In May and June, the theatre will showcase a vibrant programme of community theatre, with performances from local favourites including ERDA, Lemon Jelly and Curtain Upp – celebrating the incredible talent and creativity within our community.

A couple of other productions to highlight:

• On Saturday 16 May, the theatre presents the debut of a brand-new musical marking the centenary of the birth of the incomparable Kenneth Williams. Kenny! The Kenneth Williams Centenary Musical, a brand-new production celebrating the iconic comic actor, with book and lyrics by Uppingham’s very own actor and writer Henry Dawe, promises a joyful, heartfelt tribute to one of Britain’s most iconic performers. Follow .themusical for more details.

We are just home from a lovely evening at the launch of the new summer menu at The Barnsdale (), near Oakham – part of The Signet Collection (.collection) of boutique hotels.

Wonderful hospitality, a beautiful setting and delicious food, all enjoyed with excellent French sparkling crémant. And, of course, there’s the fabulous spa – complete with outdoor heated (yes, heated!) pool – perfect for a little countryside escape.

Keep an eye on their socials and website for offers, events and the latest details.

Perfect staycation.
