Which events around Durham would you like to see us cover?

We are aiming to have teams at Armed Forces Day and the Miners Gala, but is there anything else you would like us to be at?

It is with a deep sense of sadness that we learned today of the passing of our presenter, Chris Smith, who lost his battle with ill health at the weekend.

Chris came to DH9 Radio as one of the co-presenters of "Magic Bag" along with Bernie Penman and Bryan F Irving.

A kind and helpful man, Chris was a joy to work with and had a great breadth of musical knowledge. This naturally made him a fan favourite and a joy to work with.

He will be greatly missed at DH9 Radio as well as in the broader community. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.

It’s been a little while since you’ve heard from us. We’ve had a bit going on behind the scenes.

Firstly, we have had construction ongoing at the station affecting our studio shows.

Secondly, the management team have been planning our very first press team trip to the Whitby Gothic Gathering.

We hope to be more active soon and we will keep you updated on the roof situation

Have a great day.
