A Simple Act: Restoring Hardknott Forest is picture locked and heading into sound post-production.

After more than two years of filming and editing, it’s quite something to see it reaching this stage.

There’s still work to do, but the finished film is getting very close, and I’m very proud of it.

We did it! 🎉

A Simple Act: Restoring Hardknott Forest is FUNDED.

Today the Kickstarter passed its £2,750 target, thanks to 50+ wonderful backers, and with ten days of the campaign still to go.

I’m more grateful than I can say to everyone who has chosen to support a film I’m genuinely very proud of.

More importantly, I hope the finished film does justice to the exceptionally impressive, and remarkably humble, group of people who have spent more than two decades working to restore Hardknott Forest. What they’re attempting is potentially monumental, and it’s been a privilege to spend time documenting it.

With the original target reached, we’re now aiming for a £3,500 stretch goal. Anything raised beyond the original goal will help towards archive footage licensing and the increasingly substantial cost of film festival submissions, helping us get the finished film in front of audiences.

But for today, mostly I just want to say - Thank you so much!
