30 Days Wild, Day 12 ☁️

Today we spent some time cloud watching, looking up at the sky and noticing the different clouds drifting overhead.

When we got home, we took our learning a little further and watched a video about the different types of clouds, what they're called, and what they can tell us about the weather.

We finished the day by looking at photos from South Africa, spotting the sunset and clouds above our family there. It was a lovely reminder that no matter where we are in the world, we're all looking up at the same sky.

Matcha in one hand, Grace in the other… and life happening somewhere in between 🤍

Hi, I’m Samantha.

I’ve introduced myself here before, but that was before Grace arrived… and life looks a little different now, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself properly again.

I’m a mum of two, homeschooling here in the UK, a UGC creator, and wife to my husband who keeps all of us grounded in the middle of the chaos.

Our days are a mix of home education with Kellin, baby life with Grace, and figuring out our rhythm as a family in this season.

Faith is a big part of our home, not in a perfect way, but in a steady, everyday way that quietly holds everything together.

I also create content here, sharing the real bits of motherhood, homeschooling, and family life as we live it, not the polished version.

And when we can, we’re outside. Always outside. It’s where everything feels a bit lighter.

It’s full, messy, beautiful, and I’m really grateful for this season.

If you’re new here, I’d love to know a little about you too 🤍

30 Days Wild , Day 11 🐦

On the way home from soft play today, we stumbled into something completely unexpected.

A whole swarm of house martins were swooping and circling above us, right over the play areas.

We ended up standing right in the middle of them as they darted through the sky, feeding and moving together in a constant, graceful rhythm.

It was one of those moments where you stop everything just to watch what nature is doing around you.

After everything that had happened, we continued meeting with the school and trying to find a way forward.

We wanted things to work.

Then, during the October half-term holiday, I received an email.

The message explained that if Kellin returned to school and misbehaved again, he could face permanent exclusion.

I remember reading it and thinking that we had reached a crossroads.

My husband and I spent that week talking, thinking, and weighing up every option. And in the end, we made the decision to home educate.

It wasn't a decision we made lightly.

But looking back, it was the right one for our family.
Since then, Kellin has been thriving. Learning one-to-one has allowed us to focus on his strengths, support the areas he finds challenging, and nurture the things he is passionate about.

Our journey is still unfolding, and we're learning alongside him every day.

Thank you for following along and listening to our story.

This was the point where things became much harder.

Different strategies were tried. Sitting at the front. Sitting at the back.

But eventually, Kellin was removed from the classroom altogether.

He was given a desk in the corridor and was only allowed into lessons for part of the teaching before being sent back out again.

The problem was that he was missing large parts of the lesson.

When it came time to complete the work, he often hadn't heard all of the instructions or learned everything being taught. As a result, he started falling behind...

Then he would get into trouble for not completing work that he hadn't been fully taught.

As his mum, that was incredibly difficult to watch.

This wasn't a child refusing to learn.

This was a child who loved learning but wasn't getting the support he needed to access it.

Looking back, this was one of the moments that made us realise something needed to change.

Part 4 is where we share the decision that changed everything for our family.

30 Days Wild, Day 10 🐝

Today we became pollinator detectives and spent some time watching bumblebees drinking nectar and pollinating flowers on our walk home from town.

It was a lovely reminder that even an ordinary journey can become an opportunity to learn about the incredible creatures that help our plants and wildflowers thrive.

30 Days Wild, Day 9 🗺️

Today we mapped the skate park at Norton Common.

Taking a place we visit often and really slowing down to notice it properly made us see so many little details we usually miss.
