I saw this from Crappy Cake Art by Anna Lasbury and immediately thought: YES. šš»
Iām ALWAYS telling cake makers to be brave and do the thing.
Put your prices up. Send the email. Approach the venue. Launch the workshop. Enter the awards. Pitch yourself for the opportunity.
āWhatās the worst that could happen?ā
They say no? Nobody books? It doesnāt work?
Okay. You deal with it, learn something and move on.
But then I saw this awesome cake art 𤩠and thought...
Hang on a minute...
Why are we always asking ourselves whatās the WORST that could happen?
What if it goes RIGHT?
What if you put your prices up... and people still book?
What if you approach that venue... and they want to work with you?
What if you launch the workshop... and it sells out?
What if you pitch yourself for that opportunity... and they say YES?
What if you try the thing youāve been talking yourself out of for the last six months... and it completely changes your business?
What if the BEST happens?
We can spend so much time protecting ourselves from things that might go wrong that we forget to leave any room for the possibility that things might go brilliantly right.
And no, everything you try in your cake business WILL NOT work. I've had my fair share of epic fails over the years! š
But imagine how many brilliant things might never happen if youāre too scared to try them in the first place.
So maybe next time you catch yourself thinking...
āBut what if...?ā
Finish that sentence differently.
What if it works? What if they say yes? What if I CAN do it?
What if you gave yourself the chance to FIND OUT?
Whatās the BEST that could happen? š„³
