I'm having a week! (And I know a few others who are too.) A sunflower always helps. And a little reflection of how much I have learned and how far I have come in the last couple of years. Please send gifs of puppies/kittens. 😅 A good thing about this week is that I am sprinting with (although I am 2 days behind). Today I've been thinking about VALUES - what a good thing to think about when the road is bumpy. Happy sprinting to anyone else joining in.

Hello teachers and TAs! I hope the first week of term went well for you (if you are in England and Wales - those in Scotland & NI I know you were back earlier). Did you know our common exception wordlists are available free to download via the TES Resources website? You can also download a chapter at a time of the KS2 full workbooks with a small payment. That way you can try out how it works before you commit to a full workbook. Hopefully we'll have the KS1 wordlists uploaded this term too.

Just in case you didn't know or you are new following me, you *can* currently find us on the very big online retailer! Search 'bosky' & 'publishing'. TBH if you want to buy a book, I really don't mind where you go. If you go via our site, it is less commission that we pay on each transaction *but* if you go to the very big retailer then it helps our books to show up in the algorithm which isn't a sure fire thing. Either way it helps our tiny biz.

What do you get if you cross a SENCO & teacher with a stint in publishing, with a brilliant illustrator and a brilliant designer? A brilliantly accessible spelling workbook. An easy step-by-step approach that you can pick up and follow. A set of three workbooks taking you from after phonics (probably around Year 2) through to the end of primary school to get better at those tricky common exception words. No mavericking or pretending there is a magic wand solution. But a very positive small steps approach to reduce the load and to set children up for success.

B E H I N D T H E S C E N E S July/August:
June and July and August have been the events months for Bosky. Someone gave me a piece of business advice at the end of 2024 to try and get out and in front of people more. So I have taken up various opportunities for events - I really like meeting people and planning the activities so I enjoy it but it is an added dimension of logistics (and anyone who has run a stall at a craft fair or an event will be agreeing!). So we have been to Cheadle Hulme Library, Rose Hill Primary School fair and the Pump Room at Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust to do crafts and to share our books. Thanks so much if you came along!

I have been trying new things for the last three years now. It's been a real journey but it is good. So pre-September and lots of new starts out in the world, here is a reminder that new things and a fresh start are often very good. 😊
