One of our own is hitting all the right notes this festive season! A North-East soul-pop singer with a long history of songwriting and performing, who also happens to be a dedicated Learning Support Assistant here at Darlington College, has released a brand-new Christmas single. We’re thrilled to share her festive track, which we know the students she works with and the wider college community will love.
Cherie D’Avino told us:
“At Darlington College, I’m proud to work as a Learning Support Assistant, a role I’ve held since 2022. I love being part of the team and I’m passionate about supporting learners to achieve their goals both academically and personally.
Alongside my role in education, I’m also a singer-songwriter focused on soul-pop and storytelling. My recent releases have been supported by BBC Introducing and have received radio airplay in the UK and internationally. I’ve just released my Christmas single ‘Christmas Lights (feat. The Dunwells)’.
I’m passionate about balancing education and creativity, and about showing students that it’s never too late to follow your creative goals.”
