Supporting local creatives is a big part of our ethos. That's why we relish the opportunity to support University of Staffordshire students like Ada to bring their short films to life.

Huge news for our BA (Hons) Film Production student, Ada Heasman, who has secured a £250 bursary to bring a powerful, autobiographically inspired short film to life! 🎬

Ada was named the winner after pitching her film concept - about a trans woman coming to terms with her identity while navigating romantic relationships and addiction - to Ryan Lloyd of 👏

“It’s a really important topic that’s close to my heart, and I’ve been collaborating with as many trans people as possible to foster a sense of community and realism to it,” said Ada.

The bursary, donated by Inspired Film and Video via the University’s Horizon Fund, will help with set design and securing festival opportunities.

A big thank you to Ryan Lloyd for his time and support: “It’s great to see such passion for a project and I hope that the bursary can help Ada to achieve the success they deserve.” 💕
