Front and centre this week has been an event we've been involved with for many years, the St Joseph’s College Christmas Carol Concert at the Victoria Hall in Hanley. Along side the tried, tested and trusted AED Flex system, it's the first year we used the Midas HD-96 on this particular job. It was thoroughly enjoyable - they're such a powerful machine. Whilst we were at it, we took the opportunity to use it's Klark Teknik AES50 card to replicate all (47!) channels on the college's Behringer Wing to multi-track the evening. 🥰 We'll share results in the new year. 😎

Following on from a top set Percy's Cafe Bar, the Disastrous Robots have been out on the live scene this week with the Electric Te****le Stoke-on-Trent EMOM - the last one of the year. Hats off to Andy Cartridge and Colin Selstrom for hosting such a brilliant event. 🥰

Christmas is fast approaching, folks! 😁 We'll be having a few days off over the festive period - 24th to 26th Decemeber, open 27th - 30th then 31st to 3rd Jan will see the faders down. 🎄

Education is something close to our heart at Synkronize so it was lovely to be draughted in to speak to GCSE students at Haywood Academy. The music department had lots of lovely things to say both in person and on their Instagram - we hope the students found some inspiration for their futures. 🥰

We've got a little X-mas surprise for some old friends - we've chosen to use the Yamaha DM2000 with it's superb Waves plugin card for this project. We'll share closer to the day. There's also another Kirk Brandon project on the go with a special live recording from Theatre Of Hate at the Brudenell Social Club up in Leeds. 🥰

We've seen so many lovely people these last few weeks. 😎 To name but a few, our friends, Julia and Mr.Will plus select members of the top BassClub crowd including our favourite bass student, Jodi. The Disastrous Robots have also been in throwing some creative ideas around ahead of their live show at Percy's Cafe Bar on the 12th Dec - we love some new, original music. 🥰

Beyond the studio, we been over to see Steve and Barry at Barley Beat to put a new show file into their lovely Midas HD96. We'll be at the Victoria Hall in a few weeks for the St Joes Christmas special with an AED system once again - we've been very impressed with them in the past. 🥰

We'd like to pay tribute to our friend, Kieth aka Bruce Forthright from Star Trak who sadly passed recently. 🥰 A lovely and genuinely funny chap who only ever showed us kindness and warmth - the local music community will be poorer for him no longer being part of it. Big love, buddy - RIP. 😘 Many thanks to Mr.Will Guitar for the lovely pic.

Roll up, roll up! We're in session at Synkronize Music Group this coming Monday.. 🤩 From 18.30 on the 1st December, there'll be tea, coffee, biscuits and of course, all things bass. Experience / ability / time served don't matter one bit - all we like to see is enthusiasm and shared interest. 🥰

London, Madrid, Newcastle, Manchester and Fenton - we've been all over, by 'eck! 😎 Electric Ballroom, Groove Club, The Rigger Venue, Albert Hall and Restoke have all been wonderful. Thanks to Kirk Brandon, The Chameleons, Skeletal Family, Mr.Will Guitar and Julia Mosley for some great music and a really cool run up to Christmas. We particularly enjoyed the big Midas HD96 in Camden for Theatre Of Hate - awesome.. 🥰

BassClub is little over a week away! Come join us at the studio for some bass orientated chatter. Synkronize Music Group from 18.30 on Monday 1st December - we'll see you there! 😁

BassClub coming again very soon, folks - December 1st from 18.30 onwards! All welcome whatever your experience, style or age - if you love it, we probably love it too. 🥰

Guitar sounds don't come much iconic than a Gibson Les Paul, into a BOSS drive pedal through an angry Marshall out of Celestion Speakers. Killer! Our little Laney VC30 was also brought in for added 'sonic palette' - Vic from Silverchild had the live room on fire with both of them last week - we've said it before but that record is gonna be awesome.. 😍

The latest addition to the studio has been pictured for the first time this week - the lovely little Fender Mustang Bass! We're still tweaking it making sure it's setup is tip-top but it'll be ready to go very soon - it's so cute. 🥰

BassClub - stick it in your diary for Monday 1st December. 😎 We'll be hosting another episode of the bass-based geek out session. All styles, abilities and levels of experience welcome - come join us in a friendly, relaxed studio environment. Free coffee and biscuits! 🥰

We had a lovely Akoustik session with our mate, Kirk Brandon yesterday - a vintage Gibson, a superb Electro-Harmonix Mel9 and a recent addition Austrian Audio OC mics - all sounding pretty special and distinctly Norse! 😁

Talking of new things, our classic Trace Elliot V4 MK2 had a new replacement set of big, glowing bottles this week. A quad of lovely Linlai KT88 have been our weapons of choice as this new-ish factory in China is apparently making some of best current production valves on the market. Our nitial impressions are very good. 😀

Gigs with Kirk Brandon have been a-plenty this last week or so but we've also been happy to help our friends, Dollface Reunion, too. Top shows at the superb Bedford Esquires and pictured here at The Water Rats - nicely done, chaps. 😎

We also had a very nostalgic session over at Eleven with The Barflys which was fantastic - a lovely bunch and top players. 😁 We were on recording duty and took a multi-track live recording via the ALLEN & HEATH SQ which we've started to put together and it's sounding so good.. 🥰

The Disastrous Robots had an awesome gig at their spiritual home, The Crossways - all involved had a lovely afternoon. The vintage Ampeg and Fender Japan Jazz were a killer combination plus our classic Korg MS2000 never gets boring. 😁

Papillon - what a gig! It's hardly a conventional venue but a lovely ALLEN & HEATH and L-Acoustics rig in this wonderful setting was fantastic. The Rigger Venue, The Parish were cooking and The International Music Venue is set to do the same this evening - two out of three with the classic and classy Midas M32. 😎

The Disastrous Robots are back out as a pair once again at the wonderful The Crossways. There'll be synths and bass a-plenty allied to chilled out vibes will take you on an easy-breezy musical journey. 🥰

The live scene has been cooking on gas with Kirk Brandon and the Spear of Destiny lot. 😆 Pictured post rehearsal in our live room at Synkronize, the group have been to The Caves in Edinburgh and the legendary King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow before heading to a favourite of ours, The Crescent in York this evening. 😎 ALLEN & HEATH and Midas allied to L-Acoustics and KV2 Audio have kept us good this week - the Avantis was definitely interesting as they're a lesser spotted beast. 🥰

We've had a look at some live recordings this week, too - Theatre Of Hate and Skeletal Family have were both captured at the lovely Brudenell Social Club via the awesome DiGiCo Quantum - we'll share a little when we get chance. 😍
