BassClub - stick it in your diary for Monday 1st December. 😎 We'll be hosting another episode of the bass-based geek out session. All styles, abilities and levels of experience welcome - come join us in a friendly, relaxed studio environment. Free coffee and biscuits! πŸ₯°

We had a lovely Akoustik session with our mate, Kirk Brandon yesterday - a vintage Gibson, a superb Electro-Harmonix Mel9 and a recent addition Austrian Audio OC mics - all sounding pretty special and distinctly Norse! 😁

Talking of new things, our classic Trace Elliot V4 MK2 had a new replacement set of big, glowing bottles this week. A quad of lovely Linlai KT88 have been our weapons of choice as this new-ish factory in China is apparently making some of best current production valves on the market. Our nitial impressions are very good. πŸ˜€

Gigs with Kirk Brandon have been a-plenty this last week or so but we've also been happy to help our friends, Dollface Reunion, too. Top shows at the superb Bedford Esquires and pictured here at The Water Rats - nicely done, chaps. 😎

We also had a very nostalgic session over at Eleven with The Barflys which was fantastic - a lovely bunch and top players. 😁 We were on recording duty and took a multi-track live recording via the ALLEN & HEATH SQ which we've started to put together and it's sounding so good.. πŸ₯°

The Disastrous Robots had an awesome gig at their spiritual home, The Crossways - all involved had a lovely afternoon. The vintage Ampeg and Fender Japan Jazz were a killer combination plus our classic Korg MS2000 never gets boring. 😁

Papillon - what a gig! It's hardly a conventional venue but a lovely ALLEN & HEATH and L-Acoustics rig in this wonderful setting was fantastic. The Rigger Venue, The Parish were cooking and The International Music Venue is set to do the same this evening - two out of three with the classic and classy Midas M32. 😎

The Disastrous Robots are back out as a pair once again at the wonderful The Crossways. There'll be synths and bass a-plenty allied to chilled out vibes will take you on an easy-breezy musical journey. πŸ₯°

The live scene has been cooking on gas with Kirk Brandon and the Spear of Destiny lot. πŸ˜† Pictured post rehearsal in our live room at Synkronize, the group have been to The Caves in Edinburgh and the legendary King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow before heading to a favourite of ours, The Crescent in York this evening. 😎 ALLEN & HEATH and Midas allied to L-Acoustics and KV2 Audio have kept us good this week - the Avantis was definitely interesting as they're a lesser spotted beast. πŸ₯°

We've had a look at some live recordings this week, too - Theatre Of Hate and Skeletal Family have were both captured at the lovely Brudenell Social Club via the awesome DiGiCo Quantum - we'll share a little when we get chance. 😍

What's in your engine room? We rather like these Sovtek 6550s in this vintage Ampeg SVT-HD - big power, heat and sound. πŸ₯° What are your 'bottles' of choice - Electro-Harmonix, Sovtek, PSVANE.official, Shuguang or do you prefer NOS Mullard, RCA and GEC etc? 😎

Our live sessions with Theatre Of Hate have finished for now whilst we pick up the baton for the SOD crowd. Pictured are some shots from last week from The Garage with their lovely ALLEN & HEATH and L-Acoustics rig plus the very cool Thekla Bristol and their identical dLive and equally well spec'd system - both awesome gigs. πŸ™‚

BassClub - we'll pin a date down this week so you can all get it in your diaries. It's been a while but bassclub is something we truly love. πŸ₯°

Great gigs, great people and great music. πŸ₯°

As ever, there's not been a massive amount of time for stopping these last few days. Between the studio and the live scene, we've been at it. Last week once again with our friends, Theatre Of Hate and Skeletal Family, we were particularly impressed with the O2 Institute Birmingham and the lovely Soundcraft Vi3000 - such a great room and a lovely sound from the Logic Systems Pro Audio boxes. Fast forward last night and we enjoyed the fantatstic Chalk Venue Brighton and their lovely ALLEN & HEATH dlive - ace. 😎

There've been some quiet and not so quiet requests for a BassClub session in the near future. We're currently looking at the second half of November although there's not yet a fixed date - stay tuned. πŸ₯°

We did manage a little recording with the Disastrous Robots this week despite the apparent chaos. Our Fender Japan Marcus Miller Jazz, the Yamaha NE-1, Ampeg Optocomp, Trace Elliot and Ashdown Engineering 210T all contributing to Carl's latest creation - HoloMatt - have a quick look on the DR page for more details. It's pretty wild. 🀣

Another week of several different avenues - Disastrous Robots have been in with Carl's new Ableton Push Controller, lovely tuition sessions with Rachel and Jodi plus the Kirk Brandon machine has once again begun. Garage Glasgow, Manchester Academy have all been awesome - Midas and DiGiCo were lovely to use as always. πŸ₯°

We'll be back in the studio Monday and Tuesday for some tuition sessions before heading back out onto the live scene from Thursday onwards at the wonderful Chalk Venue Brighton. 😎

We're back! 😎 We've steadily eased back into things at the studio although we'll be back into high gear starting tomorrow - Theatre Of Hate, Spear of Destiny, Disastrous Robots and Julia Mosley are all on our horizon. πŸ₯° It's also been lovely to see former student, Jess today - seemingly she's making waves in the world of education. πŸ™‚ Finally a hats off to our friend, Das Love who perfomed at the Electric Te****le Stoke-on-Trent EMOM, Artisan Tap - nicely done, Rachel.. πŸ₯°

We feel like these last six months or so have absolutely flown by - almost like our feet haven't touched the floor. 😎 To name a few: our live work with Kirk Brandon, The Skids and Disastrous Robots, the madness that is Notting Hill Carnival, Bloodstock Festival and Milton Keynes Bowl, recording with friends Mischief UK, Blackwater and Silverchild plus the various other bits of tuition, workshops, live work and of course BassClub, we've decided to take a little break. The Agean coast will see our feet up and the faders down for a few days so we'll catch up with everyone again soon. πŸ₯°

Well, that's Notting Hill Carnival done for another year - our participation has been somewhat varied working both the usual recording spot and additionally, FOH at the Hornimans Garden stage. Midas HD96 at both ends was thoroughly enjoyable as was the AED group Flex system - all killer, no filler on the gear front. 😎 We couldn't resist the vintage Goodmans sticker either as we have some 15" versions still in use - classic, lovely sounding drivers. πŸ₯°

The Disastrous Robots have been at it this weekend. Percy's Cafe Bar and BottleCraft have been wonderful hosts and the new (old) little Ashdown Engineering cab came up trumps and paired well with our lovely Trace Elliot V4. πŸ₯°

We'll be back in the studio this week for some slightly more conventional duties. πŸ˜†
