We're back! 😎 We've steadily eased back into things at the studio although we'll be back into high gear starting tomorrow - Theatre Of Hate, Spear of Destiny, Disastrous Robots and Julia Mosley are all on our horizon. πŸ₯° It's also been lovely to see former student, Jess today - seemingly she's making waves in the world of education. πŸ™‚ Finally a hats off to our friend, Das Love who perfomed at the Electric Te****le Stoke-on-Trent EMOM, Artisan Tap - nicely done, Rachel.. πŸ₯°

We feel like these last six months or so have absolutely flown by - almost like our feet haven't touched the floor. 😎 To name a few: our live work with Kirk Brandon, The Skids and Disastrous Robots, the madness that is Notting Hill Carnival, Bloodstock Festival and Milton Keynes Bowl, recording with friends Mischief UK, Blackwater and Silverchild plus the various other bits of tuition, workshops, live work and of course BassClub, we've decided to take a little break. The Agean coast will see our feet up and the faders down for a few days so we'll catch up with everyone again soon. πŸ₯°

Well, that's Notting Hill Carnival done for another year - our participation has been somewhat varied working both the usual recording spot and additionally, FOH at the Hornimans Garden stage. Midas HD96 at both ends was thoroughly enjoyable as was the AED group Flex system - all killer, no filler on the gear front. 😎 We couldn't resist the vintage Goodmans sticker either as we have some 15" versions still in use - classic, lovely sounding drivers. πŸ₯°

The Disastrous Robots have been at it this weekend. Percy's Cafe Bar and BottleCraft have been wonderful hosts and the new (old) little Ashdown Engineering cab came up trumps and paired well with our lovely Trace Elliot V4. πŸ₯°

We'll be back in the studio this week for some slightly more conventional duties. πŸ˜†

The live scene is once again alive and kicking these last few days - we're at Notting Hill Carnival once again. As hectic as it might well be, the lovely Midas HD-96 has been great from both a recording and live sound perspective. Hats off to the Steel-pan groups - super. πŸ₯°

As ever, the last few days have been somewhat varied with a mix (see what we did there!?) of live scene and studio time. 😎 Big thanks to the Bloodstock Festival, the excellent HSL crowd and a special mention to the lovely folks at Midas for taking the time to come chat with us. Talking about 'yellow flag to a hamster', the upcoming Neon 16 and how well the M32 has done over the years were all particularly enjoyable. 😁 We love the new T-shirt, too. πŸ₯°

Back in the studio we've had a creative session with the Disastrous Robots - there's some new music on the horizon from them. Carl's Yamaha reface, our Korg MS2000 and Squier bass all playing their parts - literally. 😎 Thanks to Sophie for the super snap. πŸ₯°

BassClub - it's only a few days away! Monday 18th form 18.30 at the studio - most know the score by now but just incase anyone reading this doesn't: Bass club is an open session for anyone with a level of enthusiasm towards bass guitar whether you've not even started yet or it's your countless decade at it - come join us for coffee, biscuits and bass! πŸ₯°

The next session awaits - BassClub to be hosted by us is in for another round on the 18th August from 18.30. πŸ₯°

Bass club is GO! Monday 18th August from 18.30 hrs at Synkronize Music Group. We will try to migrate into the (cooler) live room but there's a session booked in there all day so we'll have to see about that one - shorts recommended! 🀩 Bottled water, coffee, tea and biscuits will be available as ever.. We'll also operate a policy of only one amp on the go at any time and no louder than talking volume as the session becomes a little too chaotic otherwise. πŸ™‚

BassClub will also look into a future paid for sessions exclusively using the live room for amp and speaker trials, pedal experimentation and tone development. 😎

It's that time of summer yet again - we've been on it at Bloodstock Festival! 😎 This year is our fifth at the festival with many familiar faces which has been lovely - we're hoping to see some more during our final day, tomorrow. πŸ₯° The Midas M32 has once again been 100% rock (metal?) solid and helped us get the best out of those oldskool Community speakers. 😁

BassClub! Monday 18th August from 18.30 - come join us at Synkronize for all things bass! 😍

We'll be honest, we've barely been at the studio this week - there's been our usual bass session with star student, Jodi but it's been all about the live scene these last few days. 😎 Our usual 'sat behind behind the mixing desk' position has been swapped for being on stage with a bass guitar - something we've not done with any consistency for many years. Thanks to Disastrous Robots The Crossways, Stafford EMOM / Top of the World Stafford, Artisan Tap / DIGITAL ROSES / BPB and we're evry much looking forward to Live early evening session at Bottlecraft . πŸ₯°

Monday 18th August! BassClub will be in session at Synkronize! Come join us for a session bass geekery - whether it's basses, amps, pedals, or speakers that float your boat, there'll be a lovely collective of the like minded happy to geek out with you. 🀩 We may even expand the session and, for a small fee, open the live room and our collection of amplifers.. πŸ₯°

Our work spans many different sectors in the world of music which always keeps things interesting and diverse to say the least. 😎 These last few days have seen our toes dipped into the world of electronica - the crazy modular setup (pictured) belonging to AMFrequency facintated us at the Electric Te****le Stoke-on-Trent EMOM. πŸ₯°

Sticking with the electronica theme, the Disastrous Robots are out in force over the weekend performing as part of Newcastle-under-Lyme Jazz & Blues at The Crossways from half four and later at Stafford EMOM special in the evening. 😁

We've banged on about it before but we don't half love a Behringer Wing for live work - such a well thought out and capable unit and as such, we definitely think there's one in our future. 😎 We took a live, multitrack recording from it's built-in USB interface and have started to assess it with our Yamaha DM2000 making extensive use of the lovely Waves Audio Y56K card. 😁

The Mischief boys will have something to look forward to soon - we've yet to go through their session from last week but expect it'll be awesome when it's done. πŸ₯°

On the live scene, Disastrous Robots will be performing twice next week with the Electric Te****le Stoke-on-Trent EMOM on the 24th at the Artisan Tap and then an extended session at The Crossways on the 26th - go check 'em out. 😍

BassClub will also make a return to Synkronize in August - there's no date as yet but watch this space and expect something towards the end of the month. The ulitmate geek-out club. 😁

Mischief! Thankfully, they were anything but. 😎 We had a great time recording with this lovely lot - hats off to them as they 'on it' from the get-go. We've not started mixing yet but all the core sounds were pretty inspirational - our Yamaha capturing things just as it should. πŸ˜€ SONOR, Sennheiser and Shure woring wonderfully with Lee on the drums, Chris's Ibanez Bass and our Ampeg cooking plus Paul and Shaun with their magic boxes conjuring the best sounds of Marshall, Mesa Boogie and Peavey amplifiers from '80s and 90's. Winning formulas all round. 😁

We've also spent some time in our spiritual home in the Eiffel region of Germany with the fantastic folks at St Joes. Using their Behringer X32 compact and Studiomaster&Carlsbro Headline boxes, we mixed several outdoor shows in the glorious sunshine - there's definitely hope for the future of music. Big love to all involved including Mark. πŸ₯°
