Here's a quick time laspe of the sketch phase for the latest custom I'm working on, all ready to paint in gouache as my future MIL's gift this holidays. This is my first ever animal on canvas portrait (and actually only my 2nd canvas painting of all time) So I'm not expecting it to be perfect at the end, but i aim to get it as close as possible.

I made sure to take everyone's advice- I filmed every part of the process and included lots of angles. (I'll be posting longer versions of the process on my new accounts I'm setting up for my business in the new year so stay tuned for that update)

I even made sure to include showing myself in some shots (something I hate, but thankfully my cat being a scarf was a big help in having the confidence to show myself).

*my amazing portraits are made by me, with love- not artificially made. It's all hard work by hand over here

Drawing the losing option from my logo poll! Option 2 lost the my poll just barely by 1 vote, but after reading your input it's clear this kitty still won over your hearts, so of course this cute little illustration still needs to be involved in my small business.

I need your help!

In line with my new business makeover an updated Logo is in progress and I’d love to hear all of your input as I shape the new look for my animal art business.

Pictured are 2 quick composition sketches for the possible new logo, but I'm torn!

Hey everyone, Big news!

I'm super excited to announce that I'll be doing an huge makeover of my art business: Featuring new styles, new offerings, new prices and a whole new creative direction.

Today i received the most annoying, yet simultaneously biggest compliment an artist can get- I was accused of my current work in progress of being AI- it wasnt even finished!

Drawing, both physically and digitally, is a skill that takes time to perfect, and while I can appreciate the fact my work is so good it has been mistaken as computer made, it is so harmful to artists like myself who have put in so much effort to build this skill.

Unfortunately for my amazing clients who appreciate my work; my realistic portraits are nowhere near as quick and easy as AI. They use actual skill & take weeks to months complete, because they are all drawn by hand using tiny coloured dots in varying colours. It's taken me years to work up to where I am today. My first ever animal portrait was done at 17 years old (the cat photo pictured below) and is nowhere near as good as my latest WIP 5 years on at 23 years old (the unfinished Rottweiler pictured below).

Sending a massive thank you to the admins on the "safe space for artists" page for very quickly deleting the comment and protecting us digital artists! I didn't even have a chance to press the actual comment before it was removed and only saw it in my notification bar! You admins are the real ones 🖤
