🚓 PCSOs in Staffordshire have voted in favour of strike action in a dispute over new shift patterns.

Unison says the changes could reduce PCSO visibility at key times, while Staffordshire Police says the new model will put more PCSOs on duty during the busiest periods.

The changes came into effect this week and include the latest PCSO shifts ending at 9pm rather than 10pm.

🚌 A new campaign has launched to help make public transport more inclusive across Staffordshire, including for passengers travelling in and around Stone.

The Celebrating Differences Inclusive Travel campaign includes Travel Assistance Cards, which passengers can show discreetly to bus drivers if they need support, such as extra time to sit down or help with communication.

The cards can be picked up from main libraries across Staffordshire or downloaded from the county council website.

👷 A renovation project near Stafford is looking for a labourer or general helper.

The role runs from now until the beginning of September and pays £120 per day, working 9am to 5pm.

It could suit a student on summer break or a recent school leaver looking to gain experience in the construction industry. Labouring experience is not essential, but applicants will need to be willing to work hard, get stuck in and learn.

The successful candidate will need to pass a DBS check, or already hold a current DBS certificate.

⚽ Could a charity football match in Stone get enough local support?

A follower has asked us to post this anonymously while they find out whether there would be enough interest.

They said they have not played a match for at least nine years, but would love to get people together for a charity football match somewhere in Stone, bringing back a few memories while raising money for a good local cause.

They are also looking for suggestions for a local charity to support, such as the Stone Community Hub food bank or another local cause.

The idea could include selling tickets for people to come and watch, helping raise as much as possible.

Anyone interested can pop into the classroom building at Walton Community Centre on Saturday 13 June 2026, from 12pm to 1pm.

It’s open to all skill levels and is a chance to meet others, find out more and help shape the new group.
