You might remember we recently looked into the paid social media advert about changes to Staffordshire’s councils 👀

It’s now been confirmed that the survey was commissioned by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, and it’s part of their proposal known as Option D.

Option D would create a new North Staffordshire unitary authority made up of:
🏙 Stoke-on-Trent
🏘 Newcastle-under-Lyme
🌄 Staffordshire Moorlands
…with the boundary stretching south to include Stone, Uttoxeter, and nearby villages currently in Stafford Borough and East Staffordshire.

That means services like planning, waste, highways and social care for Stone could one day be managed from further north if this model went ahead.

Other councils, including Stafford Borough and Staffordshire County Council, are developing their own options too, so several versions of “what happens next” are being discussed.

This BMW failed to stop for us today in . We had to abandon the pursuit due to the driver deciding to go the wrong away around Stone one-way system! 😡

Thankfully they decided to dump their vehicle and try their luck on feet... unfortunately for them they were the registered keeper and we found them a short distance away.

Arrested for -
🔹️ Dangerous driving
🔹️ Fail to stop for police
🔹️ Unfit through drink / drugs
🔹️ Drive whilst disqualified
🔹️ No insurance

They will now be questioned pending a decision from the CPS.

I just wanted to message to say sorry if you have messaged us, but one of our children has been admitted into hospital this morning.
It’s not an emergency situation, but as I’m sure you can imagine, it’s pretty busy here at the moment.
Hopefully normal service will resume soon but it may take us a while to get back to you and posts may be limited until things get back to normal.

The Chatty Café at BOD Stone is back, offering residents a friendly space to connect and share conversation every Monday afternoon.

A collaboration between BOD Stone and the Salvation Army Charity Shop, the Chatty Café first launched in March 2025 as part of the national Chatty Café Scheme, which aims to tackle loneliness by getting people talking.

After a short summer break, the sessions have relaunched and are once again open to anyone who’d like to enjoy a friendly chat over a cuppa.

The Chatty Table runs every Monday from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at BOD Stone on the High Street. There’s no need to book, you can pop in for a quick five minutes or stay for longer. The only request is that attendees are over 18 and purchase a drink to support the venue, which kindly provides the space each week.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the van permit to be issued for a hire van to use the recycling centre in Stone?
I’ve got a van on hire tomorrow to take some waste to the centre, but I won’t know the reg etc until I pickup the van tomorrow!
