Well done Santa and his little helpers:
“To santa that drove by St Mary’s Nursing home tonight just before 8pm. You saw us carers and our resident from her window and stopped to wave and wish her a merry christmas.
We could not be more grateful as you made her whole week. She would also like to say thank you, and she can’t wait to tell her great granddaughter that she saw the real santa!”

🛴 Thinking about an electric scooter for Christmas
Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership is reminding Stone families that privately owned e scooters cannot be ridden on roads, pavements, parks or cycle tracks, and may be seized by police. There are battery safety risks to consider as well.
We do not have a rental scooter scheme in Stone, so the national trial rules you may see in larger cities do not apply here.
Should the law be changed to allow private e scooters on the road, or is the current rule the right one for safety?
One of our readers is asking for help after a collision on Saturday 6 December 2025 at around 4.20 pm.
They were travelling southbound on the A34 just after Strongford roundabout when their vehicle was struck from behind. They were in the outside lane and the other vehicle came from the inside lane.
They are now hoping to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident, as they need witness information for insurance purposes.
If you were in the area at the time or have dashcam footage, please get in touch.

Has your little one got socks but no shoes!?
“These were left in a trolley at Aldi today. Anyone know who's little feet are missing and pair of shoes?”

The driver involved in last Sunday’s rail replacement service between Stone and Stafford has spoken to A Little Bit of Stone to help clear up a misunderstanding that led to widespread discussion on social media earlier this week.
Here we are, Sunday 7 December, the day after Small Business Saturday, and it’s the perfect time to keep that local spirit going.
Stone is full of brilliant small businesses, from family-run shops and cafés to trades and makers working from home. Let’s make the most of the support and shine a light on them today.
If you run a business in or around Stone, or want to give a shout out to your favourite one, drop a comment below and include:
• The business name
• What they do (in a line or two)
• Where they’re based
• How people can reach them
A friendly photo always helps people put a face to a name.
Which local business deserves a mention this weekend?

“A special mention to two lovely guys from Stone Car and Truck Centre who came out to my address today, even though were just about to close for the day, to pump up my front tyre so I could drive to Stafford to get a replacement when Stone Tyres had shut. They waived any fee and said it was a goodwill gesture. A bottle of something will be delivered on Monday as a thank you and to show my gratitude. 🙏”
