Doric maestro Alistair Lawrie in top form for the homecoming launch of Opent Petals at Buchanhaven Heritage Centre. Super co-headliner Judith Taylor, and support readers - 'The Laurie-ettes' - Brian Hill, Lauren Hossach, Andrew Urquhart, Sandra Miller, Michael Arthur and George Duncan. As if that wasn’t enough, home-made tray bakes to die for (and I know my tray-bakes!) - I had three then was close to palpitations with the sugar rush. Thanks to all poets, plus audience for making a Drunk Muse Press high heid yin happy by buying books. Opent Petals is available for £10 from drunkmusepress.com

Coming soon from Drunk Muse Press – A Month o Muins by Anne Pia. To say this book has been a labour of love would be an understatement. Anne's tapped into the spirit of the legendary Georges Brassens and crafted a sequence of poems in Scots inspired by his ballads and songs. "It is as if his songs have been woven from the same threads as the Border Ballads and Burns: he becomes a 'noble makar of licht' . . ." – Pàdraig MacAoidh, Scottish Makar.

Cracking turnout for the Stonehaven book launch of Opent Petals by Doric maestro Alistair Lawrie, with top support readings from the Laurie-ettes - the brilliant Olive Ritch, whose new book Weather Blinks is due out from Drunk Muse Press in coming weeks, and an impressive line-up on the open mic. Thanks to all who attended at Stonehaven library, bought books, and helped to confirm Stoney’s status as a hotspot for the best in Scottish culture.
