All About The Bellman

Stonehaven’s volunteer-run online newspaper, The Bellman.

Who are we? Many people have been supportive of the venture - but functionally, The Bellman is Jane Cruickshank, a former Mearns Leader reporter; John Cruickshank, who takes lots of photographs; George Reid, who links to Facebook; Martin Sim, who writes great heritage articles; Lisa Lawman, who helps post news stories; and the ‘Mearns Rover’ who has just joined with a great nostalgia piece, but who threatens to write more.

We started The Bellman at the beginning of 2019 and have allowed the platform to grow at its own pace. Word of mouth and the sharing of Facebook posts have taken an increasing number of visitors to the site.
