Congratulations to Bella Cameron on 55 years of service. 🥳🎉

We are delighted to recognise Bella Cameron, who has dedicated an outstanding 55 years to Grogarry Lodge.

Throughout her long tenure, Bella has prepared meals and cared for guests from near and far, contributing immeasurably to the warm and welcoming character for which our Islands are famous for.

Her commitment, professionalism, and enduring presence have made her an integral part of Grogarry Lodge.

Quite simply, the lodge would not be what it is today without her.

Mealaibh ur Naidheachd, Beileag! 🥳🎉

An Lanntair's latest exhibition gets inside the world of the mystery hotel…an artistic exercise involving 100s of people who have been creating a world of epic stories, across an entire wall of the main gallery – part of a double act with the Dolls Houses of acclaimed island-based artist Tom Hickman. Escape off Francis Street into wild and wonderful works of imagination and miniaturisation.

A nostalgic look back… these are views of the Lews Castle Grounds taken in March 2007. OK, it's not March this month, nor is there an obvious link to the year – eg 10th anniversary, 25 years on etc But who makes these rules? Let them moulder and mutter in their moth-bitten armchairs. We can choose to look at any views of the Grounds whenever we want to. So there! 😃😃😃😃😃

Surely it’s a wee bit optimistic to assume that someone’s home is so untidy that there’s a copy of the Crofters Commission annual report from 1908 or 1909 propping up a table leg in the outhouse or weaving shed.

🚨 Calling all history detectives! 🕵️‍♀️

The Crofting Commission needs your help! We're digging into our archives and have a huge gap. We're on the lookout for our old Annual Reports from 1886 to 1911.

We have every single one from 1911 onwards, but the earlier ones are proving to be a real challenge to find. 🧐

Could you do us a huge favour and have a rummage through your attics, bookcases, or old family boxes? You might just be the one to complete our historical records! 🕰️

If you find anything, please drop us a message. Your help is key to preserving crofting history!
