The studio works primarily in live on location sessions and studio based recording work for bands, singers, voicework and foley. Example projects range from bands recording demos/singles/showreels/EPs, vocalists performing to karaoke style backing tracks, to full length albums/music projects. Editing, reamping, mixing and mastering services are available with final mixes either "master ready" or masters compliant with red book/DDP and digital platform standards. We are located on the outskirts of Stourbridge town centre on Collis Street (just off Brettel Lane). It can be easily reached by car or public transport and is within easy reach of the surrounding areas (Netherton, Blackheath, Rowley Regis, Brierley Hill, Pensnett, Wordsley, Kingswinford, Wall Heath, Norton, Wolleston, Halesowen, Gornal, Sedgley, Wolverhampton, Oldbury). There are also several large supermarkets and fast food restaurant chains within a minutes walk of the studio. He had a 30 year hiatus from the drumkit.. but now Mr .marmalade himself is thrashing those tubs in the name of BATBI. New record in the works and it will absolutely be the greatest record nobody ever hears 😆

Very happy that we are finally working on the BATBI "sophomore" release. Some of these songs were written over 7 years ago! Great to finally have them realised. Gigs being booked for 2026 and hopefully a new release coming by the summer! All being well of course. Keep it real guys

Ey up! Planning a pedal build if anyones interested in joining on too?

The Tascam 424….I bet some of you know that name (or maybe even had one). I had a Fostex 4 track back in the day instead but there’s no denying that saturated, mid-pushed sound the Tascam gave was THE sound 🙂

There’s been a few pedal versions of it lately so I’m offereing to build one for £100+p&p. It has Input, output, bass and treble controls. Sounds wicked on guitar and bass and you’ll find plenty of demos out there of it how it’ll sound (just search Tascam 424 pedal).

Ey up! Got a pedal build available in September before the academic year goes into full gear, been a while hasn't it…..

A notanotadumble anyone? 🤣 Inspired and using similar circuits mostly but with some differences/extra parts.

As separate pedals.
-Clean channel (BBC1 Dumble), £40.
Input and volume controls. It's a clean boost ain't it?

-Overdrive channel (inspired by Dumble Overdrive Special), £80.
Drive, volume, EQ controls along with an attack k**b, 2 way tone switch and clipping mode.

As one pedal.
£120. Bigger case, but it'll have all the functionality of both pedals along with separate foot switches to operate both pedals independently or together.

A couple of boos from this weekend (but also with happy endings!)

While tracking some bass I discovered one of my speaker cabs was on the way out and had started distorting pretty badly on the low end. Peavey haven’t made repair parts for 1505-KADT black widows in a while either and I wasn't keen to be new cab shopping 😕

Then later on, while recording some drums it became apparent one of my favourite mics is emitting noise (a loud wind sound). Double boo 😭 ……

The good news though! After I stopped huffing about them I was able to source another 1505-KADT cab second hand which arrived yesterday! I replaced the basket in my cab (keeping the original driver). All good now!

The mic…as it was a matched pair with removeable capsules I did trial and error by swapping parts back and forth between the two and was able to ascertain that the actual PCB to the mic had the fault. A quick multimeter test later after comparing the two and I was able to discover one electrolytic capacitor in the faulty mic that, whilst visually looking ok read very differently to the other. A neat replacement later and all fixed too.

As you all were, nothing to see here....🙂
