GRUUUNNNGE

Did you know Grunge is my favourite style of music of all time (Seriously, how could you not know if you’ve ever met me??? ). It’s abit daft considering that that I don’t actually have or ever made a DOD Grunge pedal! (Unless you count the Buzzbox which had some of the grunge circuit within it).

It’s a very “polarising” pedal to say the least, however it can definitely sound amazing in the right set up; It probably works best on detuned guitars (drop d/c etc) and sounds pretty cool on bass too. There’s also the bass grunge! Not really the same circuit...this one oddly enough sounds best on a guitar.

I shall be building one of each for myself/studio once I have a moment over the next few weeks; would you be interested in one? Work as the originals did with also one quick easy mod; A clipping switch to go from the original 1n4148 diodes (fuzz filth) to LEDs (more overdrivey, pedal will also jump in overall volume).

Grunge: £80+P&P (admittedly the real ones go for about that online and digitech did do a reissue not too long ago)

Bass grunge: £80+P&P (this one is harder to find, and also about 2x-3x the price of a regular grunge online).

Pedals would be in a 1590BB case, not the boss style format and some appropriately themed 90s imagery 🤣

New toy for the studio! Pretty much every bass and guitar you hear recorded from me uses LA-3A compression so it's wicked to have an actual hardware unit now!

Take 2.... improved how it reacts to instruments and gain now rotates the correct way! Sounds quiet noice!!!! Bonus marks for anyone who knows where the riff I "borrowed" is from.

Available for £50 if anyones interested. This is the mic input stage of the Radioshack (Tandy) Realistic Reverb, renowned for being sh*te as it's intended use as a mixing desk but noice as a guitar fuzz effect!

New build I breadboarded, then made a stripboard layout and assembled! The mic input section from the Radioshack (Tandy) Realistic reverb....makes for a nice fuzz overdrive!

It's very fussy though...you have to get your input juuust right for it to work or you get nothing! And the gain gets working in reverse despite me swapping the wires over 🤣.... Hence it's apt name....rough video demo also attached.

IT’S OUT. 🍋🖤

After a year of writing, recording, gigging, changing things, changing them back again and generally making far more work for ourselves than necessary, our debut album Peel A Little Deeper is finally out in the world.

Busy week! Recorded CaveGirl + The Neandergals earlier in the week (and just finishing up the mixes), had a few days on jollies and then helped the wife build and fit this stained glass window over the weekend! 🙂
