Here's a selection of vintage hard-knee compressors that are great for adding attack and punch to drums or for simply adding lots of vibe to tracks 🕺🏻

They're quite hard to get hold of but some early variants have the same compression circuits as the mighty DBX 160, of which do a fantastic representation of and we may try to add to the collection down the line!

Some special bits of kit here! An American Standard Telecaster Frankenstein and 2 x LA2A clones.

- This Tele sounds unreal, it's an American Standard that's been modded to a 50's spec Tele, loaded with (which is what gives it it's magic)! It's found it's way onto Rock, Indie, Americana and even Metal tunes!

- These particular LA2A comps are vintage spec with a service to keep them running as expected, even when linked in stereo. They're a fundamental element to our vocal recording chain.

One for the connoisseurs of all things heavy, a batch of holy grail amplifiers.

- 90's MK1 5150

The mace has to be the loudest amp I've ever heard, with the craziest built in phaser, made famous by .
The 400 series are DOOM machines, I'm yet to find any of these in UK spec so they're pretty rare.
The 5150, no explanation needed.

Here's something different, keeping in theme with vintage ribbon mics, a 60's Reslo RB Black Label. These microphones were popular for both live and studio applications, made famous by a picture of performing at .

They're incredibly durable for a ribbon, thanks to the grill that surrounds the moving parts, so they're great on loud sources. And even better than that we have 2x black label and 2x red label editions!

This weeks studio star (bar & ) is this A6, which has made its way onto each of their projects via vocals. It's a great "clean" sounding mic with great presence, without sounding harsh.

It was ran through a 1073 & SA2A each time.

We also ran an unbalanced 57 copy through a Special 130 for a distorted vocal 😎
