Dr Anita Takwale is one of our congress speakers. Dr Anita Takwale is a UK trained Consultant Dermatologist and the former President of the British Hair and Nail Society. Anita has been leading the specialist tertiary referral hair clinics at Gloucester, UK for the last 14 years. She is the co-author of the British association of Dermatologist living guideline for managing people with Alopecia Areata 2024, the founder member of the European Taskforce for Hair, and an expert on the panel of international hair specialist groups (SOFFIA, ASAMI).

Anita has recently published the national guidelines for standardised hair loss photography in UK. Anita is a frequent speaker at conferences, has published extensively and has co-authored the chapter on Hair and Nails in the book “Dermatology Training: The Essentials and ‘Dermatosis of the scalp’ in the 10th edition of Rook Textbook in dermatology. She is currently involved as a principal investigator in clinical research on new JAK inhibitors for Alopecia Areata.

Dr Jeff Donovan is one of our congress speakers. Dr. Donovan is a US and Canadian board-certified dermatologist, specialising in the treatment of hair loss.

He received his medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 2004, and conducted his post-graduate clinical training in Dermatology, and PhD studies in molecular biology at the University of Toronto. He teaches and lectures nationally and internationally, and is active in hair loss research.

His current research interests include hair loss in women, scarring alopecia, ethnic hair disorders, alopecia areata and hair transplantation. He co-founded Okavana Laboratories in 2013, which is a company committed to developing better products for hair care and to developing new treatments for individuals affected by hair loss.

He is currently the President of the Canadian Hair Loss Foundation, a non-profit organisation which supports education and research in hair loss.
