About Us - Snitterfield Fete

Snitterfield Village Fete is a fantastic family day out, all the fun of a traditional summer fete but with many more attractions! It’s run by a committee that is made up of enthusiastic individuals and representatives from village groups such as Snitterfield Primary School, Snipe Magazine, WI, St James The Great Church, Snitterfield Actioning Climate Change, Ragtag Toddlers, Friends of Snitterfield School, and Snitterfield @Play.

Every year, the committee chooses a loose theme: most recently Flower Power celebrated peace, love and happiness to mark 100 years since the end of the Great War, Wartime Memories in 2014 commemorated the D Day landings and saw a Spitfire Flypast and we had Brazilian samba dancers to mark the Olympics in Rio. This year, we’re embracing the great British Seaside, and enjoying a day out at Snitterfield-on-Sea with Hook Norton Brass Band providing the tunes, a surprise Flash Mob dance group performing ‘at some point’?! and Punch and Judy shows and sandpits for the children.

As well as the committee, there are large number of volunteers and business partners who make it happen. We would like to specially mention Nick Lamb who keeps the Playing Field in flawless shape, John Keen for storing our marquees, Edward Brain for the straw bales and Dave Jones and Roger Mann who mow the field for car parking! We are, as ever, indebted to the wonderful Radio Warneford Team from Warwick Hospital who co-ordinate our proceedings to fundraise for their work at the hospital but who actually give their time for free.

Every stall at the Fete, whether it be a business, a charity or a local group, keeps its takings; in addition, Friends of Snitterfield School run the Tea Tent, the Sports Club run the Bar. Profits from the Fete, which are raised from the programme advertising, commercial stall and gate entrance fees, and the raffle, are put towards local causes so it is not only a really fun day out, but it also raises money for local causes.
