WHAT A WEEK 🌬🥶

This is my face after a week of shifting stone, climbing on a roof and being battered by the wind. Rosy cheeked, tired and windswept but still smiling (just!) 😅 It's been a busy one, but I love it!

If you need me, I'll be wrapped up in a blanket for the weekend, catching up on paperwork and keeping warm ☺️ (with a possibility of work tomorrow if the weather is good 🤦🏼‍♀️😂)

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🥳🥂

This little video is from a couple of days ago at a roofing job, I didn't realise it at the time, but I feel like it's a good representation of this past year 😅

I'm trying to keep a level head whilst carrying work gear in one hand, personal items in the other and being laughed at/supported by friends - Literally 2022 in a nutshell 😂

Actually, it turns out adding weight to a 130kg bath you're about to shift down a flight of stairs, isn't ideal 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

It's not finished, but it's definitely getting there!

LITTLE BY LITTLE ⛏

A fireplace before and after for you! It takes time, but picking and pointing can make such a difference 😍 I can't wait to see it completely finished!

I seem to be in the minority when I say I enjoy pointing 🤷🏼‍♀️ It's not the most exciting of things to do, but I just plug into a podcast (I highly recommend but especially one called "You're dead to me" 🤓) and suddenly it's done!

PAINTING THE TOWN... BLUE 🔵😍

Another successful trip out to Westray! With lots of sanding, painting and trying not to get distracted by the dogs 😅 (I really must get round to doing that pet appreciation post!)

It's the first time in ages I've painted a wall something other than white or magnolia, but was a lovely change and was great to see!

No before and after pictures I'm afraid, but here's a photo of me standing up a ladder... Again! 🥳😂

KNOCKING ON HEAVENS DOOR 🚪🚽😍

Normally I wouldn't be so excited to be sanding a door, but this particular one is for the bathroom in the house I've been part of renovating for nearly a year. So excluding the first couple of months, there's not been a functioning toilet and I've had to improvise 🪣😱😂

Needless to say, having a proper toilet at work (that even has a door!) is going to be such a treat! What can I say, it's the simple things 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

🌟ONE YEAR DOWN🌟

Turns out today it's Happy to Help's anniversary! Woohoo! 🥳🥂

So I'm going to take this as an opportunity to say thank you to all the customers, followers, family and friends for supporting me over the past year ❤ You're all amazing and it certainly wouldn't have been such a successful year without you all 🥰

After being made redundant from a management job due to covid, jumping into a new business venture was a pretty scary prospect! 🥴 This year has by no means been all sunshine and roses (a fair amount of blood, sweat and tears 🤦🏼‍♀️😂)...
I've absolutely loved it! ❤

I've learnt so much, done things I would never have imagined doing, met some incredibly lovely people and gained so many new friends 😊

I somehow managed to find myself a boyfriend in the process too 🤷🏼‍♀️🤯 And I have to say thank you to him, we work together a fair amount and he's an experienced builder so surely must have the patience of a saint to put up with me that much! 😇🥰 (So, if you're yet to meet him, feel free to offer him a cup of tea, every little helps! 😅😂)

So this morning it was a rushed trip to Tescos to grab some hats and a cupcake before work, just to mark the occasion, but also because I love a cupcake 🧁😋

Anyway, thanks everyone!! 🥰

NEW TOOL BELT, WHO DIS? 😎😂

Coming up to the one year anniversary of my business so I thought I'd buy myself an early present 🤷🏼‍♀️😍

FYI, finding womens work trousers is a serious battle and although my ones are fantastic, they have no hammer loop or nail pockets like men's trousers do 😑 Anyway, problem solved!

WESTRAY WORK 🌞💪🏻

On the boat back from Westray just now so figured I'd do a quick post while I have a minute! 😊 (There's actually an helicopter doing a training exercise with the ferry and I'm not gonna lie, it's definitely made my commute home more interesting! 😎😂)

This fireplace is not quite finished so no before and after photos just yet, but it's nearly there and I can't wait to show you! 📸

TOO MANY JOKES, NOT ENOUGH TIME 🤭😂

Spent part of the day stripping... 1960's woodchip wallpaper, obviously! 😏 I won't lie, I've been itching to get rid of that wallpaper for months, so I'm glad to see it go 😂

To be honest, today has been a great day! I've been working with some fantastic people (even another girl! 😱🥰💪🏻), walked a gorgeous dog and actually just feel like this week has been a seriously productive one 😊

It's been another manic month full of work and while keeping those plates spinning hasn't been easy, I think I'm finally getting the hang of it 😅💪🏻

SUMMER MADNESS 🤪

It's been a while since I last posted (actually months!! 😱) so I think it's safe to say I wasn't prepared for how busy I'd be! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 So I thought I'd better do a quick post to say I'm still here and still working hard 😅

Fingers crossed I'll be able to do a big post soon with an update of what I've been up to over the past few months 🤞🏻😊

In the meantime, I randomly ended up learning how to weld this evening and thought you all might appreciate this little video (mostly because of the pretty sparks 🤩)

Some super speedy work from this morning as I finally worked out how to do a hyperlapse video 🙌😁

I'm not going to lie, I find this sort of work incredibly cathartic, it's like popping bubble wrap but with a drill 🤷🏼‍♀️

COME HELL OR HIGH WATER 💧💪🏻

It might not look like much, but that little blue pipe means there's now water in this house 🎉😁

It took two of us and all our muscle to get the pipe in, but we did it! 🙌 Not an easy job with one of us in an incredibly small space and the other in the mud, but well worth it and the cup of tea after was the best I've had in a while 😊

Here's a few before and afters for you! Not going to lie, some of them are pre-christmas because I've mostly been digging through rubble since boxing day and, although it's a great way to burn off the Christmas calories, it doesn't make for interesting photos 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

I can't wait to finish tearing this house apart and start rebuilding it! 💪🏻
