Spotted the first common spotted-orchid on the Common, among the cowslips and violets. Always a joy to see, even under the glowering clouds.

Our annual Clay Shoot and Evening Dinner is back for our 40th anniversary, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! 🎉

This year, the Clay Shoot will feature a GNAT! The GNAT is a remote-controlled micro plane loaded with explosives to shoot at during fly pasts, exclusively available at Raisthorpe Flyers.

That means twice the fun and twice the challenge!🤩

If the Clay Shoot Competition isn’t your thing, then the Evening Dinner inside the beautiful Berkeley Castle might tempt you. With a three-course meal, reception drinks, and a unique auction all on offer.

Someone is very excited about the latest raffle prize for the. Nelson Trust Charity Clay Shoot at Berkeley Castle on 15th May 2025.

Stroud Farm Country Store have donated ‘The dog hamper’, which is full of everything a dog could desire, for the raffle to be held at the Clay Shoot on 15th May.

This is on top of their joint sponsorship of ‘the Gnat’ for the Clay Shoot, with Nailsworth Mills Estate. The Gnat was thought to extinct - it has now been reborn and is more fun than ever before! (The Gnat is a fast, remote controlled, delta wing aeroplane with fuel cells under the wings which explode when hit!)

The Nelson Trust brings belief, hope and long-term recovery to lives affected by addiction and multiple disadvantages. This is the 40th Anniversary year of The Nelson Trust so join us for our Annual Event at Berkeley Castle.

There is still time to get your tickets to support The Nelson Trust,

This is the 40th Anniversary year of The Nelson Trust so join us for our Annual Event at Berkeley Castle.

Once a year, courtesy of the Berkeley family, the Nelson Trust hosts an exclusive clay pigeon shooting competition for teams of 4 Guns in the spectacular Berkeley Castle Deer Park located in the beautiful Berkeley Vale, Gloucestershire. This shoot is followed by a black-tie dinner and auction in The Great Hall at Berkeley Castle which is open to non-guns.

A major fundraiser for the essential work of the Nelson Trust, this unique event raises over £60K every year. The Nelson Trust brings belief, hope and long-term recovery to lives affected by addiction and multiple disadvantages.

Guests pay: £1,000 per team of 4 (£250 p.p.)
All cartridges are included in the entry fee with each team loading for the team in front for speed and camaraderie.

Many of us thought that The Gnat had been extinct for many years - it has now been reborn and is more fun than ever before!

£100 p.p. for a 3 course black-tie dinner at the Castle, including fine wines from Vinotopia, Babylonstoren and Waddesdon Wine, a champagne reception and tours of the Castle.
An auction with money-can’t-buy lots including sporting offerings, private tours and experiences, amazing holidays and art.
A fun and enjoyable event for everyone.

Muse, the Sculpture Company, hosted an exclusive preview of Hamish Mackie sculptures at their gallery in Tetbury in aid of Tetbury Hospital. Hamish Mackie Sculpture is a British Wildlife Sculptor who works in bronze, silver and any other castable metal. He is considered to be one of the world's foremost wildlife sculptors.

The preview was in aid of the ‘Friends of Tetbury Hospital’ with a draw to help raise funds for a new X-ray machine for Tetbury Hospital Trust, with a chance to win a studio visit and lunch with Hamish. Hamish gave a fascinating insight to the processes behind creating his extraordinary sculptures.

For those who missed it the exhibition is on from 22nd March – 5th April at Muse, 35 Long Street, Tetbury, GL8 8AA
