Looking forward to a day of music with the We Make Culture gang and seeing our Music City come together and celebrate our wonderful community spirit. See you outside Sunderland Minster on Saturday from 10am. ❤️

On Saturday, we’re chuffed to be working again with our pals at The Bunker CIC, as part of the One City, One Voice festival! Marking a year since the riots that shook Sunderland, the day will be a celebration of community and togetherness ❤️🤍

We’ll be in Minster Park from 10.30am until 2.30pm with loads of lush Young Musicians Project artists, one of our Lambton Street Youth and Community Hub bands and loads of brilliant Bunker musicians!

There’s also music outside The Fire Station & The Peacock from Northern Academy of Music Education students, and buskers all over the city.

See you there 💥☀️

Today we've got a different kind of archive post - a throwback artist highlight!

Joe Byrne were a five-piece, female-fronted alternative band founded in Sunderland, in 2004. They released an album - 'The Benefit of Doubt' - produced by Dave Maughan, which you might be able to find copies of, if you get in touch with Jack Caradoc of on Instagram (who also provided these photos - colour ones taken by Alan Sill, B&W one from an unknown photographer which was taken here at The Bunker).

For fans of: Echobelly, The Smiths, The Libertines, with influences of Mick Ronson and Richard Thompson, according to lead guitarist Matt. If you can find the album, our recommended track is 'Dead Man'.
