NEW VIDEO!!!

We’re back…this time with a challenge video 🚀

In honour of the GNR famously finishing in South Shields, this week’s video sees us take on South Shields’ finest running group, Run Eat Sleep’s, 3 Windmills Challenge!

Now…you know that Chris and I aren’t the best at navigation, so you’re in for a treat! This self-navigated course sees my questionably geography hit a new high, my ability to take a selfie disappear and a pending divorce on the cards (😅 joking) as we try to get back to the start before all of the pies disappear!

XC SEASON IS BACK 💙
Ideal for trail lovers, perfect strengthening for the road, we LOVE XC season, mainly because it’s hard, but it’s so much fun.

I’m looking forward to it being muddier 😅 but the season always kicks off with Sunderland Harriers & AC XC relays…and we had a great Sunderland_Strollers turnout yesterday 💙

As much as we’re not ready to let summer go, it truly is one of the best things about autumn 🍂

Lots of exciting things coming from T2R this autumn too - we’ve been quiet, but keep your eyes peeled for some fun updates 👀

‘A Pair Of Wet Farts’ 😂

This morning’s parkrun was a little jaunt to Leazes! After our planned trip to Keswick with the Strollers fell through (unfortunately we couldn’t make it in the end 🥹), we decided to make the most of the morning with a lovely bimble around Leazes followed by a delicious breakfast 🥞 (photos of that to come later).

We did worry we might be struck by lightening being so close to SJP on a match day 😂 (to our Geordie friends, just a bit of banter 😉). A seagull crapped on my Sunderland Strollers hoody, so maybe it was an omen 😂😂

Strollers 💙
I know we’re currently living in a running world where Social Run Clubs are rising, and that’s great if it’s a good fit for you. For me, personally, I think there’s nothing better than the feeling of training with your friends at a club. Don’t get me wrong, we have our social nights too, but the feeling of pushing efforts and towards goals together, there’s really nothing better!

Last night, I led out 5 x 5 min intervals. A really beastie session, but a one we conquered together 🙌🏻. Find yourself a nice club and you’ll get the best of both worlds 🌍

This weekend we took on Wild Deer Events Prudhoe Miner’s 5k. We love Wild Deer races, and going into this one, we were prepared for another 5k PB attempt!

What we didn’t account for was the MASSIVE hill at the end 😂! Prudhoe isn’t flat and boy did we feel it! But do you know what? Sometimes running is supposed to be hard, and racing 5k in spite of the HUGE hill, provides a great training stimulus, far greater than we’d ever get in a session ✨

Chris was 4th overall, and I was 3rd lady - great achievements on a brutal course! It’s definitely a good choice if you want to push yourself (and we definitely earned our bacon butty at the end!!).

Training banked - we’ll take it into the next one. Hills pay the bills apparently 😉

Another one ticked off and 3 of 3 5k races completed in August ✅

It’s been a fun, long weekend, so I’m a bit late with our weekend round up!

Darlington parkrun was a special one for us this weekend, as it was a family affair! 💙🏃🏼‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Chris paced his 7 year-old nephew at his first ever adult parkrun and he managed to achieve sub-30 mins on the watch 🙌🏻 with plenty left in the tank to go around even quicker! Go Ralph! 🚀

I had a lovely bimble, trying not to get to excited ahead of a Sunday 5k race! But I really enjoyed the cheer squad, with our lovely niece Nell giving the biggest cheers 🎉

Chris’ sis Helen is still quite new to running and is now running 5ks consistently. She managed to get a shiny new PB on Saturday 🙌🏻 we’re so proud of her for sticking in and giving it a go!

You should’ve seen Ralph’s rapid sprint finish 🚀🚀

Even Helen smashed a sprint finish to bag that PB 👏

A great morning all round with the squad! Parkrun is always the best energy - we love it 🙌🏻

TOMORROW!

It's a chilled one at Darlington parkrun 💙 as we've got a race this weekend!

Sunday, we're at Wild Deer Events Prudhoe 5k! It's been ages since we've done a Wild Deer race, and we really can't wait to be back!

I’m a big fan of an easy long run somewhere different. So with a little help plotting a route, this morning I set off on a 10 mile solo adventure…

Kirkstall Abbey
Otherwise known as the abbey from the Leeds Abbey Dash. I’ve not been before today - but it’s stunning 😍

A few friends recommended a run around Headingley! The stadium is quite something and the area is lush 😍…

It also has amazing street art!

I had to climb a MAMMOTH hill to get there, but thankfully it was the only hill on the route 😮‍💨

Loved this 😍

I then headed for a few laps of Woodhouse Moor. I did the parkrun a while back - but forgot how pretty it was!

I got back to the hotel and still had half a mile to go…guess what happened to be exactly half a mile away? 😋 ☕️

Miles in the bag all before 930 am! Running is the best way to explore a city 😍

Lovely morning - even lovelier crew! 💙 Great time running with friends at 💙

Riverside is a great course and always a warm and friendly atmosphere!

I was super pleased to run under 23 again this morning, coming in at 22:52 official time. So nice to have mentally broken that barrier now 😅

Chris smashed it, running 19:31 at tempo pace 🔥

A great start to the weekend 🙌🏻
