What’s your favourite Studio Ghibli film? 🎞️✨

Kiki’s Delivery Service is back in cinemas from 21st August at and I’m so excited. Now I’m just hoping we get even more Studio Ghibli films back on the big screen because I would absolutely be there for a full marathon 🧹🐈‍⬛ //

I’m not crying… you are 😭

I went into knowing basically nothing about it and I didn’t expect it to hit me as hard as it did. I think what I loved most was that it made me feel seen. It wasn’t just about being sick, it was about everything that still exists around that, the friendships, the stupid conversations, the fun and just wanting to feel normal.

Sometimes a film comes along and represents something you’ve lived through in a way you didn’t even realise you needed, and this really did that for me. It’s also exactly why I think it’s so important to keep supporting indie filmmaking and the stories that might not otherwise get told 🥹🎬 //

What’s your favourite thing about British culture? 🇬🇧

Loved hearing what Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt have picked up from their time in the UK, from darts to saying “have a wee”. And of course I had to bring them a Crème Egg from my local Tesco 😂 //

How many Ted Lasso easter eggs have you spotted? 👀

I can’t wait to see what they sneak into the new season! Although apparently I’m looking a little TOO hard if I’m trying to turn the Wi-Fi password into an easter egg… I guess the production design is just that good 😂 //

How do you know when an idea is actually good? 😂

I loved sitting back and hearing Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt explain their writing process. I work with my brother a lot, and when you’ve known someone for so many years, there’s a shorthand and a level of trust that’s hard to replicate. Hearing how they check in with each other and know when an idea is heading in the right direction really reminded me of that //

Never thought I’d be talking about one of my favourite musicals, Jesus Christ Superstar, with Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, but here we are! We chatted about their shared love of musical theatre, how it’s found its way into Ted Lasso and their show tunes only nights off screen //

From Wild Child and St Trinian’s growing up to Ted Lasso now, Juno Temple will forever be a British icon to me. I couldn’t end the interview without telling her… and giving everyone a Creme Egg, of course 😂
