Life’s been A LOT lately 🤯

The silence on here probably reflects the reality of running my own business. Never saying no to a new opportunity, trying to make things happen, and signing my kids up to every extracurricular activity possible… which, unsurprisingly, leaves very little time to keep you updated on what Seed & Social are up to!

But earlier this week, I had one of those moments that made me pause. I recently started coaching my daughter’s U7 football team, and seeing her all suited and booted running onto the pitch with her best mates was a pretty special moment in itself. I then overheard her proudly telling everyone it was her Mummy’s company who sponsored them and that’s what they’re wearing across the front of the shirt 🄹

A reminder that it’s easy to get caught up in the busy days, the long hours, the never-ending to-do lists and wondering if you’re doing enough. Then you get a moment like this.

Keep inspiring that next generation in whatever way you can, it’s worth it ā¤ļø

Things I heard this week šŸ‘€

I’ve recently started a new client project working with a marketing team, and in one of our sessions this week, we had a really simple conversation about the little things that can get in the way of doing great work.

The point was not to moan about the habits or phrases being used, but recognise them, bring them into the open and think about what we can do better.

Sometimes better ways of working start with simply being honest about the small things that create unnecessary friction and agreeing as a team, how we want to work differently.

Clearer briefs. Clearer ownership. Better feedback. Better decisions. Creating the right environment to do these four things helps ideas become great work.

Behind every strong portfolio is a clear strategy.

Seed & Social have recently been brought in to manage brand planning and portfolio prioritisation across this portfolio of independent beer brands, helping to define the role each brand plays and ensuring the focus is aligned to the greatest opportunities for long-term growth.

What’s making this role even more rewarding is being part of a team of founders and entrepreneurs who bring different perspectives, challenge each other, and work collaboratively to make a real difference across the business.

Looking forward to contributing to what’s ahead šŸ»

Last week, I had a personal family emergency that meant I had to completely down tools.

One of the realities of running your own business is that it can sometimes feel like you’re carrying everything yourself. When life happens, there’s no big team to step in, and that can feel quite daunting.

But last week reminded me of something much more important. The relationships you build with your clients really matter.

Every conversation I had was met with kindness, understanding and compassion. Not once was I made to feel guilty for putting my family first. Instead, I was reminded that the best client relationships go beyond briefs, deadlines and deliverables.

When you build partnerships based on trust, you become part of each other’s team.

I’m incredibly grateful to work with clients who lead with empathy. Thank you for your support and I’m pleased to confirm the little man is back to his usual self causing havoc everywhere he turns ā¤ļø

Serving a little ā˜€ļø heatwave ā˜€ļø content check for small businesses in the community…

When the weather changes, your customers’ behaviour changes too. This is where timely content can work really hard.

You don’t need a huge campaign or a perfect plan. Sometimes it’s a simple as asking:

1. What do my customers need this week?
2. What would make their day easier?
3. What should I remind them about right now?

Your Marketing should be relevant in the moment and make it a no brainer for people to choose you!

Two weeks in with a new client and it already feels like we have packed a few months’ worth of work into the calendar.

I’m currently working in-house with an independent brewer in South West London, helping put the foundations in place for annual brand planning, supporting long-term commercial brand building, upskilling the team, and tackling plenty more besides.

There’s a real willingness to challenge thinking, build new capabilities and create structure that will make a huge difference well beyond the next planning cycle.

Still lots to do, but it’s exciting to see momentum building already and looking forward to what the next few months bringā€¦šŸ»

Yesterday, I attended a mindful doodling workshop with and one of the exercises really stayed with me.

Home life, work, juggling kids and clubs often make it difficult to take a step back. No overthinking, but creating space to notice what feels aligned, what feels unclear, and what needs more attention.

We talked about how important this same process is in brand strategy. Before you plan what comes next, you need to understand where you are now - we call it the ā€œdiagnosis stageā€ in the Marketing world. The step before the plan.

Where you pause, reflect and look honestly at the bigger picture so your next move is built on clarity rather than guesswork. This is one of our superpower’s at , and we’d love to hear from you if you think we can help šŸ«¶šŸ»

šŸŽ„ May, in moments šŸ“ø

I spend a lot of time talking to clients and community business owners about showing up consistently, sharing the work behind the scenes, and keeping their communities updated… and frankly, leave too little time doing the same for my own business . Clients are the #1 priority, and the weeks very quickly become jam packed!!

This is the simplest way to bring you along the journey and showcase all the brilliant local businesses we’re involved with - because May has been A LOT!

A month full of new hospitality openings, client event planning, shoots, 1-1 client strategy sessions, women in business networking events and much more!

This week is all about recharging with the family (…and feeling smug we didn’t spend ££££ going abroad when it’s hotter than Tenerife in the UK!) - ā˜€ļø āœŒšŸ¼ šŸ˜Ž
