The Great Mouse Detective! 🕵️‍♂️🐭

I’ve started a new job this morning to tackle a years-long "on/off" mouse problem in a garage. It hasn't caused too many issues until now, but the mice have started making the move from the garage into the house—and that’s where I draw the line!

I’ve found two possible points of entry, but to test my theory, I’m going full CSI. I’ve set up bait points with non-toxic bait and tracking dust, using two different colors in two different areas.

Now we just wait and see what the powders show! It’ll be interesting to see exactly which route they’re taking. 🐾✨

Let the detective work begin!

Last week saw my first camera survey of 2026

On this particular survey we have found where the rats are getting into the building and have fitted a NRV (NONE RETURN VALVE) used correctly these can stop rats gaining access to the building. They are a powerful addition to rodent control on domestic settings.

I have two NRV to fit one day this week in Ashby and a sewer survey Wednesday.

On top of that I have 4 new contracts to sort out and my other customers to see

2026 has started with a bang!! I just hope this snow stays away now.

It's Monday again!

Unfortunately I have a huge split in my van tyre which I need to sort today. I've had no way of dealing with it over the weekend.

I'm hoping I can get it inflated enough to drive somewhere to get it changed. What a nightmare.

Now the snow has gone I'll be hitting this week like a true Rhino!

Let's get this started!!!

With the threat of a storm I am being cautious as to how far out I am going at the minute.

In the event the snow comes heavy I will be returning home as I don't want to risk an accident.

All appointments will be rescheduled to the earliest convenient time to next week.

All my customers are important and always will be. But I have to be safe so I can continue my work.

Officially the hardest day of the year is the first day back at work, kids back at school and it's freezing.

To top it off, I've had next to no sleep. This will be fun

Good luck to us all...

I'm signing off for a few days, but not before the obligatory new year speech.

From start to finish it's been a whirlwind in so many way, this isn't a woe is me message requiring sympathy or anything. It's all fact.

The bad - I have been poorly this year more than ever. 2 back to back chest infections and then a throat infection. This effected me from may all the way through to July.

August was the only time I felt "well". September a long term relationship came to an end, my decision but it happened. Then in September the doctors suspected I could have throat/lung cancer. I was sent for tests and x-rays etc.. thank the pest lords all came back clear but I was diagnosed with something. Then 2 weeks ago I spent the night in hospital with a suspected heart attack or stroke. Thank the pest gods once more as the I came back ok, but there is an issue with my heart and I need more tests over the next few weeks.

Business is booming in a way I never ever thought it would. Although I've been quiet recently I have forced myself to have down time as I have had no real holiday since Christmas last year. I need to look after myself more.

This coming year is going to see a rapid expansion of the company. A lot of work is coming my way. There are going to be so many updates and more consistent posts.

Going into January I have 2 new contracts signed they just need setting up.

I'm in discussion with a couple of companies to have worked subbed to me to help them. If it comes to be then it'll be a fantastic turning point for me.

The way I am being paid in 2026, I've chased many payments and lost a lot of money from people who refuse to pick up their phones or answer messages in regards to payments. There will also be a piece increase in April.

I appreciate every single person who has used my services this year. It's not been straight sailing and I've had some difficult jobs to deal with.

Without you, my customer, some who have become good friends I wouldn't be in this very privileged place. I appreciate every single one of you for using me,.for following me and just joining me on my crazy little journey.

I'm constantly learning and pushing myself to know as much as I can so I can provide the best service.

2026 is a year if business growth securing me and my boys to have a comfortable life. The hard work will continue.

I am also going to be looking after my mind and body a lot more.

You are all invited to follow me and keep our areas as pest free as can be!

I love you all.

See you at the bar!

Ben and Family.

Here's to 2026 being the best year for all of us!
