“You have to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight”

I felt honoured recently to be invited to be interviewed for 4theRegions new podcast series to talk about The Swansea Positive and my passion for positivity.

Dawn and the team at 4TheRegion have been huge supporters and contributors to the paper since we crowdfunded back in 2023.

I’m excited that we are now distributing Issue 5!

It is never been so true that we live in a world where the political, mainstream and social media are addicted to a negative bias:
“If it bleeds, it leads”.

In this context, spreading positivity is not just a cheerful task or a luxury.

It’s a necessity. It’s an act of resistance,it’s a political act, a subversive act, a counter-cultural act.

It’s also a healthy act. It’s healthy because positivity breeds hope- and hope breeds life.

I love this alternative quote about bleeding from Bruce Cockburn:
“You have to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight”

This is what we are doing at The Swansea Positive, as we continue to be ‘pedlars of positivity’ , kicking at the darkness and combating the negativity through communicating and celebrating all that is positive about this wonderful city.
