We need your help!

We are raising £30,000 to restore the Wyfold room to make it safe and secure for years to come so that we can continue providing life changing riding, driving and pony therapy to our participants.

Currently the room is not fit for purpose - the roof leaks and the walls are damp and without urgent repairs we risk loosing the space that makes our work possible.

Happy 1st of January ⭐️2026⭐️

Has anyone else seen the TikTok trend where people make their 2026 bingo cards? I thought it was a great idea and made my own. Now it’s not necessarily as beautiful (nor is the spelling perfect 😅) as some I’ve seen but I had fun painting again for the first time since my art GCSE.

Some of my key horsey goals include
🐴 getting my RDA Coach certificate and moving up from a group coach
🐴 getting back in the saddle for the first time since my operation
🐴 going on a horse riding adventure!

Sometimes when teaching it doesn’t go to plan and it’s very easy to think “I won’t do that again let’s try something else” but actually it’s so important for me and for my riders to make mistakes and learn from them!

In this scenario we hadn’t built the trot up enough before coming down the poles and Moose is a horse who likes to dodge polls. So it’s credit to his rider that he went over them at all!

The next time I asked my rider to pick up the trot earlier and we agreed she could circle if she felt he wasn’t moving forward.. and look how well it paid off!

I’ve learnt to carry on when it doesn’t go right because the feeling when they get it makes it all worth it!

Matching riders to horses is not easy! It’s not as simple as is the rider the correct height and weight for the pony
No no it’s much more complicated than that.

Every horse has different conformation which effects how they walk, bend, trot, halt and much more. In an ideal world we would match our riders to the way the horse moves not just how big they are.

For example a rider who is quite weak and wobbly we would want to put on a horse with a smooth stride help them balance themselves and build core strength. As opposed to a short choppy stride which makes it harder for the rider to balance especially during transitions.

Did you know it’s that complicated? It’s quite as job for us as coaches to make sure every rider has a horse that suits them!

Happy Halloween 🎃

Somehow in my 3 year degree I’ve failed to do anything for Halloween the past few years so this year we went all out!
There’s been a theme to my Halloween this year - How to Train Your Dragon is my favourite movie of ALL time so I just had to be Toothless.

Some day I plan on dressing a horse up as toothless! How was your Halloween? Did you do anything fun?

FYI this is your reminder that ⏰ THE CLOCKS CHANGE TONIGHT ⏰!!

It’s that time of year as the evenings get darker and it gets colder and wetter it’s very easy to become a bit miserable BUT this is just my little note to say that the winter brings slower days with more relaxation - less expectations to to out and do loads! More cosy nights with a book or movie and a hot drink, Soups and cosy jumpers.

So enjoy - even if having horses makes you hate winter.

Oh and also the clocks change tonight!
