Recent šŸ’

I’ve been thinking lots recently about how I can teach to give my riders the best learning experience. How can I set myself up to give them the best teaching experience?

As someone whose brain is going at 100 miles an hour ALL the time I sometimes really struggle to get my words out. My brain is in so many different places.
For example is my leader ok, reading my riders body language, watching the horse to see if she’s going to freak because her friends have left the arena, am I being clear, great I’ve just messed up my words that’s not helpful, when’s the hay being delivered, I hope the bonfire down the road isn’t too crackly etc!

And I’ve realised two things
1) As the coach yes it is my job to risk assess and pay attention to my team but also it’s not my job to think about everything - that’s what delegation is for!

2) I don’t need to talk all the time - a lot of my riders are advanced enough to figure things out on their own and don’t need me to hold their hands constantly. The best learning is so often done by making mistakes and finding out what works.

Watch this space - I will be trying to put it into action next week.

Cheeky reorder my life last weekend when the sun came out for a matter of HOURS!

Is anyone else FED UP of the constant rain? The fields are sodden, I have zero motivation and really need spring to arrive šŸ™

We need your help!

We are raising £30,000 to restore the Wyfold room to make it safe and secure for years to come so that we can continue providing life changing riding, driving and pony therapy to our participants.

Currently the room is not fit for purpose - the roof leaks and the walls are damp and without urgent repairs we risk loosing the space that makes our work possible.

We have already drawn down £25,000 from our reserves but now we need your help to close the gap!

Here’s how you can help:
āļøDonate directly to our just giving page - https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/rebuildthewyfoldroom

āļø share the campaign with your friends, family and anyone who might be interested in supporting us!
