My client and I decided this print ‘Indian Birdsong’ by lent itself to be framed in the ‘bobble’ style frames from - so much fun! We couldn’t decide whether to go big and bold with a red pop of colour in the mounting or the candy pink - we decided as the print is so vibrant that candy pink won! Hope you agree!

Some people have incredible patience! - these are just stunning and the ‘magic’ glass sets off the colours so beautifully and crisp! The tree was made up with polymer clay forms that were covered in needle lace and part painted for colour, silk ribbon lettuces, embroidered cabbages and cauliflowers and the trunk serviced stitched, and the other leaves are stitched separately, wired and applied to give 3d effect! - and ‘Secret Squirrel’ he’s silk shaded using single strands of embroidery cotton - over 20 different shades all designed from a photo my client saw in a magazine! - just wow!

My client bought these photos from a local craft fair - she was drawn to them because the photographer took them of wildlife around her area so felt really connected to the nature as she could picture exactly where the photos were taken. She is going to hang them in her recently decorated conservatory. The robin and kingfisher will hang together as a pair hence choosing the same frame but giving them an individual colour pop and the fox is going as a stand alone piece, love how the frame ties in perfectly with its surroundings!

When a frame works perfectly with the artwork! - here a few examples of that with the gorgeous ‘Tortora’ range, the art doesn’t dominate the frame and the frame doesn’t dominate the art. A perfect package of not competing but complimenting each other beautifully

I recently went to a friend’s for supper and saw in her kitchen (amongst a load of paperwork!) this beautiful watercolour she had painted at a local art class - I decided to ‘steal’ it as thought very worthy of framing! - seeing her tonight, hope she approves! .bea - also I only put my ‘Well Hung’ framing sticker on work that I’m happy to send out the door - nothing leaves my work shop without a sticker!

Duke of York Square, King’s Road - when my client came round with this gorgeous painting by it took me straight back to my 20’s and 30’s meeting friends after work for a vino or two! - Sloane Square is such an iconic part of my time in London - framed in the beautiful ‘Tortora’ outer and a simple cream slip

“Dog Days Are Over” - Florence and The Machine. This canvas we stretched and double framed with a neon green inner and dark taupe outer frame is one of 50 limited edition prints hand signed by Florence Welch. Florence hand signed this print at her home during November 2023 to benefit Nordoff Robbins. This artwork was created and signed by Tim Wakefield from the sounds waves of “Dog Days Are Over”. During the consultation with my client we couldn’t decide which inner colour would work best - hoping you’ll agree the neon green added its magic!
