☀️🐠 Good morning from Nemo! 🐠☀️

This tiny guy has a full belly and fresh splints on his front legs. We’ve been getting lots of questions about how Nemo got his name. Mommy’s co-worker suggested it, and the second we heard it, we knew it was PURR-fect!

Why Nemo?

🧡 He’s orange.
💦 He was found in a puddle, screaming for someone to help him.
🐠He has Swimmer Syndrome affecting his front legs.

I mean… could there possibly be a more perfect name?!

Nobody wanted Bruiser because he only had one eye.

Most people looked at him...

Then kept walking.

They saw an old, sick cat who looked too broken to save.

What they didn't see...

Was the gentle soul still fighting to live.

When my husband found him, Bruiser was painfully thin.

One eye was cloudy and beyond saving.

His body trembled from exhaustion.

His fur was patchy.

And yet...

The moment he looked at us...

There was still hope in his one good eye.

We couldn't leave him behind.

So we brought him home and rushed him to the veterinarian.

The news was heartbreaking.

His damaged eye had to be removed.

He had severe ear infections.

He had no teeth left.

And as if that wasn't enough...

He was diabetic.

He would need insulin injections every 12 hours for the rest of his life.

The treatment would be expensive.

The road ahead would be long.

There were no guarantees.

But every time we looked at Bruiser...

He quietly reminded us he was worth fighting for.

So we gave him every chance we could.

Medication.

Healthy food.

Soft blankets.

A warm bed.

Gentle hands.

Slowly...

The frightened little cat began to change.

His body grew stronger.

His fur became soft again.

The fear in his eyes slowly disappeared.

Then something even more beautiful happened.

His personality began to shine.

He greeted us with tiny chirps instead of loud meows.

He curled up in our laps every chance he got.

His favorite place in the world wasn't by a window.

It was beside the people who loved him.

One evening...

Bruiser climbed into my lap.

He gently pressed his forehead against mine...

Closed his eye...

And simply stayed there.

No fear.

No hesitation.

Only complete trust.

In that moment...

I realized he wasn't just healing physically.

His heart had healed too.

Today...

Bruiser rules our home.

He waits for us at the door.

Sleeps on his favorite blanket.

Demands cuddles.

And reminds us every single day that love can heal wounds no one else can see.

The cat nobody wanted...

Became the one we can't imagine living without.

A lady found a young cat dumped beside a very busy main link road in the Ardee area.
This young cat was under bushes..Upon her discovery the lady immediately contacted our inspector Fiona, who went to investigate & catch the cat.As it turned out the young cat came up to Fiona herself. She was taken to Avenue Rd Vets, where it was discovered she has mastitis. This also means she had kittens, there was no sign of them where she was found. Whoever did this please let us know where her kittens are..
This young Mammy cat is so friendly, she was someone's pet before she was dumped..
Its cases like this that break your heart, & the fact its happening quite frequently is horrible. Please share this post for the sake of this young Mammy cat who is no doubt missing her babies..

Trapped at a different spot this meowning, got Mum and two of her older kittens, bad weather and residents kept the other two hiding… hopefully I can get them tomorrow 🤞

It’s hard to see kittens bring TNR’d, another trapper had a bunch of kittens much younger than the ones I trapped that will also be going back outside… there’s just not enough foster homes 😣

It’s all about stopping the cycle of suffering with what time, energy and space we have to work with ❤️‍🩹

Charlotte is not doing well. They are trying to run a line through her neck now and potentially a feeding tube. She is still less than a pound and should be almost 2 lbs right now.

She can’t regulate her temp, sugar, hydration, and without an IV line the chances of saving her are very slim. She needs IV fluids, IV dextrose, and to start eating and gaining. All of which she is not currently. She’s blown two veins in three hours. If they can’t get in through her neck, she’s in trouble.

Please, please say a prayer for this sweet girl to recover quickly and steady hands for the vets and technicians working on her now.

PSA- WE ARE NOT A DROP OFF POINT FOR YOUR UNWANTED ANIMALS! DO NOT LEAVE THEM ON OUR PORCH AFTER HOURS! There are cameras surrounding the building and it is against the law to abandon an animal. We are not the shelter. We do not have the kennel space.

This little kitten was left in our trash pile and would have been picked up unknowingly by the garbage company this morning had my tech not got they early and heard it meowing. The last thing that was left abandoned probably got eaten by the stray dogs that run around as all we found was a bloody box. DO NOT leave animals after hours!

This sweet little boy was found on side of the road. He actually ran up to the finder meowing asking for help.
He has a bad upper respiratory infection. We started him on meds.
He only weighs 13 ounces.
