As many of you will know - we did our last ever show this summer, and celebrated 10 years of Mammoth Sound.

For the last 5 years we ran a label too - Mammoth Records, which we've decided to put into hibernation (for now!).

Just a heads up - you've got until the 14th of October until our tracks become unavailable for download! You can get all of our tracks for FREE here 👉 https://soundcloud.com/mammothrecordings/tracks

There are some big tunes on here, from the likes of Toby Ross, Powello Bros, Esion, Spyne, Clear E, Kilik, Archive, NU:TEMPER, Hitfiend, Hit the Road Jack, NiGe, Idealess and Freq Cartel.

Thanks once more to everyone who has supported our local DJs and producers over the years, this project was always about showcasing local talent, rather than making money or clout.

Over 5 years, together we managed to achieve:
- Over 50,000 plays.
- Over 2500 likes
- Over 1300 comments.
- Over 1100 reposts
- 4 EP releases (Blueprints, Prehistoric, Sounds of the Wasteland and Volcanic).

A brief history of Mammoth Sound

The founding members of Mammoth grew up around Taunton, they had always been dissatisfied with the lack of variety in Taunton’s nightlife, were tired of hearing chart music all night long and wanted to put on an event which was completely different to anything Taunton had ever seen or heard before!

After a great deal of planning and significant investment, Mammoth Sound organised their first event in July 2015 at the Wi******er Arms in Taunton, they booked an array of local DJs to come and play on their small but bespoke sound system and it was free for anybody to attend. The event was a success and the management at the Wi******er Arms agreed to have them back for another event.

After several more events at the Wi******er they began to accumulate a cult following and became a staple of Taunton nightlife, bringing DJs from all over the South West to come and play an eclectic range of underground music which couldn’t be heard anywhere else in town.

Mammoth continued to grow in popularity and before long they had invested a significant amount of their own time and money into developing their sound system. As their popularity grew, so did their ambition. They started to reach out to some renowned DJs to see whether it was possible to book them to come and play in Taunton. Before long they had some big names travelling to Taunton to perform, which caused a huge amount of buzz around the town.
