Awareness Comes First

Advertising is rarely about instant results. It’s about planting the seed so that when a customer needs your service, they already know your name.

Readers might not call you today, but the brand they’ve seen issue after issue in Links Magazines will be the one they think of tomorrow. That’s how awareness works — it grows quietly, over time.

Local magazines build that kind of familiarity in a way digital channels often can’t. People read them, share them and keep them in the house. They see your advert repeatedly in a trusted environment where your business becomes part of the local conversation.

Many of the most successful small businesses we work with think of advertising as a steady presence rather than a short-term campaign. They stay visible and allow awareness to do its work.

If you’d like to talk about building awareness for your business through consistent local advertising, we’d be glad to share ideas.

Choosing the Right Size for Your Advert

There’s no single answer when it comes to the size of your advert. It depends on your goals, your margins, and what success looks like for your business.

Before deciding, think practically:
• What’s the value of your product or service? Higher-value items can justify a bigger advert because each sale carries more weight.
• How many sales would it take to cover your advertising spend? Work backward from that number.
• What’s your profit margin? Businesses with slim margins often need smaller, more frequent adverts, while those with higher margins can make an impact with larger placements.

The right size isn’t about spending the most, it’s about making every pound work effectively. A well-placed advert that fits your goals will perform better than one that simply takes up more space.

At Links Publishing Ltd, we help local businesses find that balance. We’ll work with you to match your message, your budget and your ambitions — so your print advertising delivers genuine results.

If you’d like help working out what’s right for your next campaign, we’d be happy to talk it through.

Frequency Wins

When it comes to local advertising, frequency matters.

People rarely act the first time they see your name. They notice, then forget, then notice again — until familiarity builds. That familiarity becomes trust, and trust is what turns awareness into action.
It’s why one-off adverts rarely deliver long-term results. A single appearance can spark recognition, but regular, repeated exposure keeps your business front of mind when someone’s ready to buy.

In the communities we serve, that consistency counts. Readers see our magazines regularly — they read them, share them and keep them in their homes. Appearing regularly in that environment builds recognition in a way no online advertisement can replicate.

At Links Publishing Ltd, we’ve seen local businesses transform their results simply by staying visible. Regular exposure doesn’t just remind people who you are — it shows that you’re established, dependable, and here for the long run.

If you’d like to talk about how frequency could strengthen your advertising results, we’d be glad to share what’s worked for others in your area.

Test, Don’t Guess

The best marketing decisions come from evidence, not guesswork.
Businesses that measure and adapt their advertising see stronger, more consistent results. We see it every month at Links Publishing Ltd — the local businesses that commit to steady, visible advertising tend to grow their reputation and sales over time.

Not every customer will remember exactly where they saw you, but that doesn’t mean the advertising isn’t working. Print builds familiarity, and familiarity builds confidence. The real test isn’t what people say — it’s what they do: more calls, more visits, more enquiries.

If something’s not working, test a new headline, a clearer call to action, or a different size. Keep what performs and learn from what doesn’t. The businesses that treat advertising as an ongoing process, not a one-off event, are the ones that see lasting results.

At Links Publishing Ltd, we can help you review your campaigns and make sure your advertising budget is working as hard as it should.
