You are allowed to live in the exhale.
My body, my nervous system, and my mind are all learning this together, slowly syncing into an understanding that can’t be forced or rushed. This is where I am currently residing.
Gently.
Wintering.
Composting.
Realigning.
I’m walking towards my 50s with intention, with a plan and a goal in sight. But over the next six years, as I continue my learning, it feels just as important to become deeply grounded in myself and to unravel all there is to know about my own healing needs.
I can’t honestly or energetically hold space for others if I haven’t walked the path myself, crossed the threshold, and gone through the door. Right now, I am honouring myself first.
This is why the nurturing and enlightening programmes I’m taking part in this year matter so much to me. Animal Body with Weaving Wonderment, starting in March. Bite the Apple with Jane Mary, which I’m already part way through. And continued one to one support from Sam Youngz, also known as Spirit Eyes, my little nickname for her.
I’m halfway through a two week break from my day job, after putting in extra hours and navigating a delicate support role that required a composed, empathetic, nurturing presence. As I prepare to step into my official role as a support worker within a dementia unit at our new premises, I’m giving myself permission to pause. To process what has been. To tend to my home, my studies, and my nervous system. With time for afternoon granny naps, meditative meetings with my higher self and gentle walks with my dog.
I’ve finally submitted an overdue assignment after a five-week extension over the busy festive period. I’ve set up and integrated new learning resources funded through my Disability Living Support. And I’m now fully immersed in my next module, the mind and consciousness, and I am loving it. Speechify has been a life saver.
I’m nearly halfway through the third year of a six year degree in philosophy and psychology, before moving on to a master’s in psychotherapy. I’ve also contacted an external provider to put the wheels in motion for studying my level three counselling over the summer break from university this year. Alongside this, I’m continuing my shamanic studies, and in the years to come I will be taking part in trauma informed space holding training.
I’ve consciously let go of Virtual Empathy Ltd, freeing up energetic ties with anything that takes my energy and pulls me away from my true path.
The path of a deeply intuitive, empathic, pattern seeing, neurodivergent woman who was put on this earth to see truths and translate pain into meaning, chaos into coherence, experience into language, and shadow into insight.
I’m here to help people see themselves clearly, without being shamed.
And so, Virtual Empathy is no longer.
The Rogue Shaman is born and is in its infancy stage, growing in concept, maturing into a service that will be pure in integrity and aligned to who I am and what I am capable of.
I’ve always lived with my feet on the ground and my head in the clouds. Shamanism has been flowing through me since I was a small child, long before I had words for it.
A shaman is a seer. One who descends into the shadows and sees the truth, bringing back wisdom. Someone who recognises and works alongside the energetic imprint threaded through all that is, all that can and can’t be seen. A wounded healer.
As The Rogue Shaman, I refuse dogma and performance. I reject false light. I won’t do something for the sake of it or because tradition says it should be so.
I’m here to guide you as you sit beside the descent. Holding space where breath returns and honesty can be held and spoken.
But first, I need to move further into the shadows myself. To descend a little more. To walk between the light and the dark and gently find my way. In my own time. In a way that feels safe, aligned, and true.
This cannot be rushed or pushed out for the sake of it.
And until then, I have two beautiful young teens, a loving husband, and a wonderfully chaotic dog to spend time with.
I am living in the exhale.
And for now, that is enough.
