**What’s the best practice for adding a link to a Facebook business Page post in 2026? 🔗**

I thought this would be a five-minute question.

It wasn't. 😂

Put the link in the post.
Don't put the link in the post.
Put it in the first comment.
Actually, links in comments may count too. 🤯

The reason it's so difficult to get a straight answer is that Meta has been testing changes around external links, and what applies to one page may not necessarily apply to another.

So after disappearing down this particular social media rabbit hole, my biggest takeaway for small businesses is actually quite simple:

**Don't build your Facebook strategy around hacks and workarounds.**

Check what's happening on your own Page. Use links when they genuinely add value. Create native content that gives people a reason to stop and engage. And be prepared to adapt when the platforms change.

Because apparently even answering *“Where should I put my Facebook link?”* requires a research department now. 😂🔗

August was supposed to be the quiet month. It really wasn’t. 😂

Behind the scenes at Very Social, there’s been rather a lot happening.

New client projects, social media strategy and content, website work, a new search and online visibility project, AI builds, developing my own digital tools, and plenty of ideas that are starting to turn into actual things. 👀

And somehow, amongst all of that, there were holidays and birthdays too. 🥂

Now it’s September and I’m back at my desk (well… technically the sofa ☕️), with an even bigger list of things I want to build, create and grow.

Very Social is increasingly becoming exactly what I wanted it to be: somewhere small businesses can come for help with the whole digital picture, from social media and content to websites, search visibility, digital strategy and practical AI.

So, hello September. 👋

It’s not looking small either. 💗

Working behind the scenes on an exciting app launch for a new client has been a great reminder that digital marketing isn’t just about creating social media posts.

There are business portfolios, ads accounts, launch plans, platform setups, social media strategy and approximately 4,372 settings hidden somewhere inside Meta🤦‍♀️💻🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

(I’m fairly sure at least half of them are there purely to test our patience!)

Nonetheless, there is definitely something really satisfying about helping bring a new digital product to life.
From setting up social platforms and planning content to making sure all the pieces fit together behind the scenes, it’s a reminder that there’s so much more to a launch than people ever see.

The funny thing is, I absolutely love this stuff. I love figuring out how all the moving parts fit together and helping businesses build the right digital foundations before they launch.

One of my favourite things about running Very Social is that no two clients are ever the same. Every project teaches me something new and keeps me learning.

Although I’d still like a quiet word with whoever decided every important Meta setting should live behind three different menus… 🤷🏼‍♀️

Today I was with Kristy setting up her client Microneedling files in Google Drive.

I mapped everything out properly before she arrived, and then we built it out together using the bespoke system I had pre-planned for our training session.

She’s now got a simple structure of clear and concise client files and
