The Bubbly Hub team had the amazing privilege of getting a sneak peek at the full dress rehearsal of "The Addams Family - The Musical"performed by Magic Floor Productions
Following on from their last production, The Welkin, we really thought they were going to have a tough job to beat that production... well... they have.
Magic Floor Productions’ "The Addams Family" is a spellbinding night of theatrical fun — a perfect blend of macabre charm and musical delight. From the moment the house lights dimmed, it was clear this was no ordinary amateur staging.
The cast are simply astonishing. Each actor embraces their role with full commitment: the romantic swagger of Gomez, the elegant darkness of Morticia, the deadpan wit of Wednesday, and the quirky energy of the supporting players all shine in their moments. Their ensemble work is tight, expressive, and consistently engaging.
The wardrobe is a triumph — gothic elegance meets playful exaggeration. Dark tones, rich textures, dramatic silhouettes — the costumes not only look gorgeous but help define the characters and mood. Every flick of a cape or flourish of a skirt feels intentional and evocative.
On set, the production impresses with inventive simplicity. The stage transforms fluidly from creepy mansion halls to family parlors to eerie graveyards. Clever lighting and well-chosen set pieces carry the weight of atmosphere without ever feeling cluttered.
Finally, the sound (Note - New Sound System) is superbly handled. The balance between vocals and instrumental underlay is spot on: you hear every lyric, every nuance of the harmonies, and the orchestrations feel full and alive rather than flat or tinny. The sound team deserves praise for letting the music soar without drowning out the performers.
In short, Magic Floor’s "The Addams Family" is a striking, theatrical ride. With an amazing cast, stunning wardrobe, thoughtful set design, and first-rate sound, it’s a show that haunts you in the best possible way.
