Neurodivergent Parenting - Exploring the Double Mirror

What happens when a neurodivergent parent is supporting a neurodivergent child?

In the latest edition of Connectiverse Magazine, Teodora Byrne of NDwise Hub explores the concept of the "double mirror", the unique experience of parenting through a lens that reflects both your child's challenges and your own.

For many families, neurodivergent parenting can bring moments of deep understanding, connection and empathy. It can also present additional complexities, as parents navigate their child's needs whilst managing their own sensory, emotional and executive functioning demands.

This honest and insightful article examines:
πŸ”Ή The realities of neurodivergent parenting
πŸ”Ή Co-regulation and emotional wellbeing
πŸ”Ή The strengths that come from lived experience
πŸ”Ή Why understanding and self-compassion matter

At Connectiverse, we believe that sharing lived experiences helps create greater understanding, reduces isolation and supports more inclusive communities for neurodivergent individuals and families.

πŸŽ“ Rethinking Employability and Supporting Neurodivergent Students into Meaningful Careers.

What if we shifted our focus from barriers to strengths?

Too often, conversations about employability centre on what neurodivergent young people may find challenging. But what happens when we recognise and nurture the unique skills, perspectives and talents they bring to education and the workplace?

In the latest edition of Connectiverse Magazine, Tracey May of The Blackpool Sixth Form College explores a strengths-based approach to supporting neurodivergent students as they prepare for employment and meaningful careers.

The article highlights the importance of moving beyond traditional employability models and creating opportunities that recognise individual potential, celebrate difference and support long-term success.

From confidence and communication to workplace readiness and inclusive practice, this thought-provoking feature challenges us to rethink what employability really means.

Hybrid working has transformed the way we work, offering flexibility, autonomy and new opportunities. But what are the unintended consequences that can emerge when teams are no longer together every day?

In the latest edition of Connectiverse Magazine, Warren Landlord, Managing Director of Lab Creative explores the hidden impacts of hybrid working, including connection, communication, culture and the challenges organisations face in maintaining collaboration and belonging in a changing workplace.

This thought-provoking article examines what happens when workplace interactions become more transactional, how disconnection can develop over time, and what leaders can do to build stronger, more connected hybrid environments.

πŸ“£ Year 6 Parents – Are You Ready for High School?

As we approach the end of the academic year, we're pleased to launch a new Transition Support Programme for parents of children moving from Year 6 to Year 7.

Hosted at The Manor & Community Hub, Cleveleys, this free programme is open to Year 6 parents from all areas and includes four expert-led sessions designed to help you:

βœ… Understand the transition to secondary school
βœ… Build confidence and feel prepared for the changes ahead
βœ… Gain practical strategies to support your child
βœ… Access advice, guidance and local support services
βœ… Connect with other parents experiencing the same journey

We know that moving to secondary school is a significant milestone for both young people and their families. While schools provide excellent support, many parents can feel less connected during this transition. These sessions aim to give parents the knowledge, confidence and tools needed to help make the move as smooth and positive as possible.

There is also an optional fifth session for families who may have additional concerns around SEND, ADHD, autism, anxiety or other transition-related challenges.

πŸ“ The Manor & Hub, Cleveleys
πŸ“… Starting 17 June
🎟️ Places are limited

To register your interest, please complete the booking form below:

Please share with any Year 6 families who may benefit from this support.
