Hello!

For those attending our Spring Equinox Sound Bath, please note that there has been a venue change.  NEW LOCATION: Todfellows Space, Oxford St, Todmorden, OL14 5PU.

Todfellows is a cosy intimate community space right in the centre of town, and it will be perfectly suited for our sonic journey on Thursday.
We’ll return to the beautiful Natural Endings another time.

The Sound Bath will start promptly at 7:30pm, so please make sure to get there a little early. Once the Sound Bath commences, the doors will be closed and there will be no late entry, so as not to disturb the experience of the other participants.
 For those coming by train, Todfellows space is a very short walk (approximately 5 mins) from the station. For those coming by car, there is street parking nearby.
 Please bring your own yoga mat and any blankets or cushions for comfort. It is recommended to dress comfortably and bring a bottle of water.

Thank you to all who came to the Golden Ratio Frequencies New Year Sound Bath 🌀🙏🏼

The first time I’ve held a Sound Bath in Todmorden since moving here two years ago, and was touched and humbled at the response. To sell out on a rainy New Year’s Day… just wow! It truly felt like such a special way to start the year, with rest, rejuvenation and intention! 🙌🏻
We went deep and I could feel the collective release of what has been for many a challenging year.

In holding the bath, I was setting my own intention to return more to my Sound Bath and Sound Therapy Practioner work for the coming year in amongst the radio shows and cassette releases!
Big thanks to for hosting the beautiful venue space and to my lovely assistants Destiny and Ross for helping set up and create the ambience

Last month I had the honour and pleasure of hosting a Sound Bath and DJing at ‘s open day.

This Friday 28th October I return to their wonderful space at to Soundtrack a number of wonderful Yoga sessions as part of BAUKMA SESSIONS, a special Samhain “Conscious Clubbing” event with Yoga, Dance and Sober Rave!
🎃 🧘🏻‍♂️ 🎃

I’ll be amongst a host of other DJ’s, healers, practitioners and facilitators and will be providing live ambient textures, alongside the best contemporary ambient, downtempo and drone music + gongs and singing bowls. Wow!

I’m pretty intrigued and excited to as to what this kind of experience will be like!
Something different that’s for sure!

Golden Ratio Frequencies is proud to announce our latest physical release, Chalybeate Spring, a collaborative album from UK artists & .

A Chalybeate Spring is a naturally occurring mineral water spring thought, since the 17th century, to have miraculous healing properties. One such spring located near to Montieth’s home, which throughout 2020 and 2021 he visited and drank from daily, serves as the inspiration for the eponymous album Chalybeate Spring and is a culmination of some of his most serene and meditative work from this period.
After outlining the basic forms of most tracks Monteith invited his long-term friend and collaborator, Jérémy Moors, to bring his skills in modular synthesis to the project and together they finalised the compositions, remaining conscious of the underlying theme of flowing water.

Augmented and graced by a range of guests, Everything Everything’s Jeremy Pritchard (bass), Polypore’s Stephen James Buckley (additional production & Mastering) and an accompanying video series by acclaimed artist Sam Wiehl, these 9 pieces of sonic sublimity, tones and textures flow, fluidly weaving around a fundamental core, rooted in heart and steeped in spirit, that evoke swells of emotion to spring forth, tantalising the ear and soothing the soul.

Chalybeate Spring is a quiet celebration of the experience in finding contemplative calm through creativity and of the bond that collaborative creation can forge between old friends.

Physical editions will be manifested as a special limited-edition box set, containing the cassette album duplicated on pro-dubbed C45 “spring water clear” transparent cassette with on-body print, double-sided 4-panel inlay, screen printed Golden Ratio Spiral acetate, and accompanied by a small vial of spring water collected from the chalybeate spring near Monteith’s home.

Following a steady stream of beautiful releases for Cafe OTO’s Takuroku Label, Fruit For Evil, and Good Morning Tapes, Japanese Composer/Producer Yama Yuki .metaesquema graces Golden Ratio Frequencies with the honour of representing their latest release. Music For Ride Hailing Service

Like its Eno inspired name suggests, it is music with a suggested purpose.

“This album is a personal reaction to what I consider some sort of sound abuse I regularly experience in Uber’s car service. When I was living in Sao Paulo, I was using the service often and when in the car I was nearly always forced to listen to the music on the car's radio, which was usually some kind of music I found grating and at odds with having a relaxing ride. At a certain point I started thinking that since I spent so much time in them, I should make some calm and comfortable music to improve my life inside of a car.”

Reminiscent of 90’s Texan astral travellers Stars of the Lid, or contemporary master William Baskinski, the two longform tracks contained within act as a calming and soothing agent for the restless cab rider. Billowing resonant drones, organic swells, textures and field recordings breathe throughout its 30 min duration, taking us on a hypnagogic Uber drive into wistful, contemplative and at times euphoric realms. A perfect soundtrack for gazing out of the window of that Uber, taxi, or whatever mode of transport, at a world passing by.

Music for Ride Hailing Services acts as both a passive sound aid or deep listening catalyst, either one will make you want to extend that Uber trip a little longer.

Physical copies come on Limited edition pro-dubbed C35 Cassette, in a smokey nostalgia shell with on body print, 4 panel double sided insert containing photography from Sao Paulo artist Juliana Kase and, as ever, Ratio spiral acetate.
