I've just had to write one of the hardest emails I've ever sent!
The UCP 2025 Travel Incentive was announced in 2024 as an all-expenses paid trip to Vietnam. I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Vietnam. So that became my focus for 2025. Until I did some research. The heat, humidity & backbone of their cuisine are elements that my health just can't cope with.
So I redirected my focus to the UCP Achievement Awards, to be in the top 3 of 1 of 6 categories.
This year, I have helped schools get their share of over £150,000 of gifted books from Usborne.
I have helped parents find the right gift for their child, or the right support for their educational progress.
I have raised over £3000 through book pledges for an SEN charity, Dementia Cafés, a baby support group & local girl guides group.
I have loved having random conversations with people. I have a little rubber duck fan club. I've been thrilled by children coming to my stall 'for the next book in the series' or saying 'oooh you came to my school!'
It has been really encouraging when schools, businesses and event managers have sought me out to attend their events.
My mentees have shared the joy of their successes and have trusted my advice to grow stronger.
I have been able to just be me.
Next week I will collect my award for no. 1 Sales Partner and in March I will be enjoying the luxury two-day celebration in London, including dinner at the 5-star Sheraton Grand in Mayfair, followed by an overnight stay at the 4-star Washington Mayfair and an exclusive behind-the-scenes day at Usborne headquarters in London!
Today I had to withdraw from the Vietnam travel incentive draw. I knew it was coming, but it was incredibly painful.
But then I realised I have the best business ever. I have had an amazing year. I have full support, free training, amazing incentives & the best experiences while helping children, parents, schools, charities & other people who want to run their own bookshop business within their lifestyle.
How amazing is it that I've actually even had the opportunity to withdraw from such an amazing incentive?!
