Have you seen what I’ve been busy baking?! 🧁🍁

Yesterday I was baking and now I’ve been at it again today! 🙈

First up, Maple & Pecan Cupcakes — the perfect flavour for autumn and they smell absolutely delicious! 🍁🧁

Then I’ve made a Peppermint Slice, which is ready to pop in the freezer ready for pudding whenever we fancy it! 🍫🌿 This one is from The Batch Lady.

Have you been busy baking recently? What have you been making? 👇🏻

I was so torn about this one, which is why I’ve left the decision open for months! 🏃‍♀️

But with me also planning to take on the Walk Tonbridge Marathon this weekend, I thought it was probably best to hold off on this one this time. There’s only so much my legs can take! 😂

The Tonbridge Half Marathon is back, and this year there’s even more choice with the addition of a 5k and 10k alongside the half marathon.

The races start and finish on the outskirts of the historic town of Tonbridge, taking you out into the beautiful Kent countryside. The routes are professionally marked and measured, with the half marathon following a single-loop course.

And it’s not just about the running — there’ll be live performances from local bands, aid stations and plenty of cheering spectators, with support from Tonbridge Rotary Club and Tonbridge Lions.

It definitely sounds like a great event for local runners, whether you’re looking to take on your first 5k, step up to a 10k or tackle the half marathon.

Maybe next year! 🏃‍♀️

Help! Oh no… it’s the Gruffalo! 🐾🌳

I’ve been super excited to take the family to Knole - National Trust to try out the Gruffalo Trail, and it didn’t disappoint!

There are 12 sculptures to find, each containing a hidden letter that spells out a Gruffalo-related word. Each sculpture has been uniquely designed with a nature theme, making the trail even more fun to explore.

At the end, every child receives a sticker and gets the chance to dress up as their favourite character in the Orangery! 🐻🦊

📅 The event runs from Saturday 29 August to Sunday 1 November.

Are you a Gruffalo fan? Have you been?

Wow, we dined like kings and queens last night! 🥂

What an exquisite place for a long-overdue date night!

Last night we visited The Warren in Tunbridge Wells and, from the moment we walked through the door, the decor had us looking around at everything. It’s definitely somewhere a little bit different, with quirky touches everywhere you look, including a taxidermy emu-looking bird sitting proudly on top of a piano! 😂

Food-wise, I had the pigeon to start, followed by the venison kofta for my main, while my husband went for the king prawns, followed by the chicken schnitzel.

It was certainly a delight for the senses, from the decor and atmosphere to the food, and such a lovely change from the usual places we tend to go. Although, to be fair, this was only our second date night since February!

If you’re looking for somewhere a bit different for a date night in Tunbridge Wells, I’d definitely recommend giving The Warren a try!

Are you ever stuck for meal ideas for you and your family? 🙋‍♀️

The The Batch Lady, Pinch of Nom and Ella's Kitchen have been my go-to places for meal inspiration since the kids were born. I love that so many of the recipes can be batched up and frozen too, making life that little bit easier when you’ve got a really busy day… or just want to chill and not have to think about what’s for dinner!

This week I’ve been making a few Pinch of Nom recipes, including Tachos, Crispy Chicken in Sweet & Sour Sauce with Noodles and Bangers & Mash Pie. 😋

They’ve all gone down well here and it’s always nice to have a few new meals to add into the rotation rather than making the same dinners every week!

Have you got any tasty meal ideas or family dinners that you keep going back to? I’d love to hear your recommendations! 👇
