✨ You didn’t leave the 9 to 5 grind just to swap it for a 24/7 hustle.

You started your business for freedom. Freedom of time, freedom of choice, and freedom to design a life that actually feels good.

The truth? Success isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what matters and building systems that support the life you want.

👉 Tell me, what kind of freedom did you start your business for?

This is my story… 💭

I was on maternity leave, sitting in my comfy clothes with my baby in my arms, when I opened an email from my boss.
❌ Hybrid working was not allowed.

So I decided to build my own business as a VA + Social Media Manager.
At first, the clients rolled in… but so did the exhaustion. I was replying past midnight and felt like giving up.

Things changed when I invested in myself and learnt how to set boundaries.
Not long after, I stood on stage in a long black dress, holding a trophy as Mumpreneur of the Year at the Kent Women in Business Awards.

Then came a twin pregnancy, a scary one.
I found myself juggling NICU visits, work, and being a mum to my two girls at home. Eventually, the twins came home, but I was drowning in the chaos of childcare, therapies, and exhaustion.

I broke.
One twin was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and needed constant therapy, the other had a feeding tube, and my eldest was being bullied at school.

We moved homes. We moved schools. And slowly, everyone became happier.

Today, I’m still a business owner, but now I’m thriving. I’ve won more awards, worked with incredible clients, been on retreats, treated my family, and even launched my own podcast.

✨ The lesson? You can bend, you can break, but you can also rebuild.

Followers don’t pay your bills. Clients do. 💰

The mistake most business owners make is assuming that followers will naturally turn into clients if they just keep showing up. But the reality is, there’s a process every person goes through before they decide to buy.

Here’s the path that matters:
1. Attract - Get visible and capture attention from the right people, not just anyone scrolling.
2. Nurture - Build trust and show your authority through valuable content and proof of results.
3. Convert - Give clear, simple ways for people to work with you. Spell it out and invite the sale.
4. Retain - Keep clients engaged after the sale so they return, upgrade or refer.

When your content is designed with this journey in mind, it stops being “just content” and becomes a strategy that builds clients, revenue and long-term growth.

The next time you plan your posts, ask yourself: does this attract, nurture, convert, or retain? If not, it’s just noise. 🎧

The wildest thing about chasing your dreams?
The biggest support often comes from people you’ve never met in person.

Not everyone close to you will understand your vision and that’s okay.
Your journey isn’t meant to be validated by everyone… it’s meant to be lived by you.

✨ Keep building. Keep shining. The right support will always find you.

✨ A little perspective shift for you today…

If I want to give you a gift but you don’t want it – who does it belong to?
👉 Me.

If someone wants to give you their negativity and you choose not to accept it – who does it belong to?
👉 Them.

Negativity only becomes yours if you choose to take it on.
And the beautiful thing is… you don’t have to.

You can simply say:
“Thanks, but no thanks. You keep that energy.”

💭 Next time negativity comes your way, remind yourself: it doesn’t belong to you unless you accept it.

Most business owners focus on the wrong numbers.

It’s easy to get caught up in likes, comments and shares because they’re visible and instant. They feel good but they don’t necessarily grow your business.

Here’s the truth:
High engagement without conversions is a distraction ❌
Low engagement with enquiries is progress ✅

The metrics that matter are the ones directly connected to revenue.
For example:
📌 How many people are clicking through to your website?
📌 How many conversations are starting in your inbox?
📌 How many of those conversations are leading to sales?

This is the difference between vanity metrics and business metrics. Vanity metrics make you feel like your content is working. Business metrics prove that it is.

The next time you review your analytics, don’t just ask, “How many people liked this post?” Ask instead, “Did this move someone closer to working with me?”

If you want to stop chasing algorithms and start building a strategy that drives revenue, this is your reminder to focus on metrics that matter. Save this post for your next content review and realign your strategy around growth, not applause 🤍

✨ When I was employed, I was never really taken seriously.

I worked my arse off.
I took every task, went over and above, gave everything I had…

…but I was still the second choice for promotions. Still overlooked. Still doubting myself.

So when I stepped into business ownership, those doubts came with me:

💭 “Why would anyone take me seriously as a business owner?”
💭 “Am I spending enough time with my children?”
💭 “Am I even allowed to be proud of myself?”

And honestly? Some days I still feel that way.

But here’s what I know now ⬇️

✨ I’ve built an award-winning business while raising four children (two with additional needs).
✨ I’ve created a life where I can choose how I spend my time.
✨ I am proud of myself, even if it took me years to say it out loud.

If you’ve ever felt overlooked, doubted yourself, or questioned if you’re “enough”… I want you to know you’re not alone.

💬 Have you ever thought the same?
