Shes nearly on a even keel Life onboard a very old disused Fishing Trawler , living on board a boat is cheaper a month than a flat in or even a room in plymouth , and your garden is a wildlife sanctuary If you like the The are you fed up with persecution of living in a van take to the water . Its free . But if you come to 1 of the 3 Marinas you got facilities and a local like minded community, you have the local security of you and your boat . And still have the wild outside your door. Waking up to kingfishers and seals and otters . And sea fish to catch . So if you fancy the boat life try it . Its cheaper than Get a boat dont need to go to sea , miles and miles of hidden history and hidden Creeks to explore

Meta feeds , Why is the vessel Sea Otter significant?

The Sea Otter mentioned in the post seems to be more than just the marine mammal. It appears to be the name of a vessel, likely a repurposed ship (MFV Corsair) that's been converted into a base or a platform for various maritime-related equipment and projects. The owner, Ian, has set up some impressive tech on board, including AIS transponders, a maritime weather station, and a 5G connection to MarineTraffic. It's like a floating tech hub! Bit of history of the fishing community from where my ex fishing trawler comes from , this was Created by Jill Watson and commissioned by The 125 Memorial Association, these sculptures located at Cove, Burnmouth and St Abbs, commemorate the widows and bairns left behind by the great storm of October 14th 1881. Scotland suffered her worst fishing disaster and the Berwickshire ports lost a total of 189 men, many within sight of their loved ones. left 107 widows and 351 fatherless children in our coastal villages. Research has uncovered that there were actually many more children, but they were not recorded with the Church of Scotland at the time.

Some of the children were offered places in a Quarrier’s Children’s Home but the local mothers refused, saying “We shall keep our bairns for our future of our ports”. It is because of this tenacity and determination of the womenfolk of the town, that Eyemouth continues to be a thriving community and proud of its heritage.

The severity of the tragedy was such that it gave an additional catalyst for the formation of the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen and Queen Victoria was one of the first to place money into a Disaster Memorial Fund, to provide help for the stricken families.
