Exciting news! 📢

We are so thrilled to welcome another new presenter to our growing radio family!

David McGrath will be joining the team to bring you two brand new shows here on Palm Torbay starting with your Friday edition of 'The Mid-Morning Show' 10am-12pm starting TOMORROW Friday 10th October! Then, from Tuesday 21st October he will be bringing you 'The Evening Show' 7pm-10pm!

A little bit about David: "I'm David McGrath, a broadcaster, educator, and creative storyteller. My career spans headship, global events, digital and live presenting, and digital media, blending sharp insight with warmth and humour to bring people and ideas to life on air. Music-wise I'm firmly rooted in the 90's/00's heyday of indie, shoe-gazing and grunge, but I can be found to be tapping my toes to some 80's synth and Bruno Mars from time to time! As a landscape artist and writer, like to explore connection, colour, and conversation in the same spirit that inspires my radio work."

Exciting news! ⚠️📢

We're delighted to announce that we have another brilliant presenter joining Palm Torbay!

Pippa Wright AKA PippaD will be joining the station to present two brand new shows including the return of our musical theatre show 'Centre Stage'. You don't have long to wait as you can hear PippaD starting TODAY here on Palm Torbay as she starts her brand new lunchtime show 'Lunchtime with PippaD' which you can hear every Friday 12-2pm!

Talking about joining the station, Pippa says:
"I grew up with musicals and thanks to my mum, I know more show tunes than is probably healthy. I even performed in the West End (don’t worry, I won’t burst into song too often on air… probably). Over the years, three different bosses have all called me Mischief, apparently, it’s a theme, so expect plenty of fun alongside the big voices and bigger songs. Whether you love the golden oldies, the modern blockbusters, or the quirky hidden gems, I’ll be serving them up with a wink and a laugh".

Pippa will be launching a brand new edition of 'Centre Stage - ' our musical theatre show in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for that one! 👀

New presenter alert!

We're thrilled to welcome another new presenter to the team! Ted Wells will be joining Palm Torbay to present a new show on Wednesday mornings!

Ted will be presenting the Wednesday edition of 'The Mid-Morning Show' playing you two hours of hit music from the 80's up to the present day including new music that's climbing the charts!

A little bit about Ted: "Hi I'm Ted! I love music from so many different genres, from classic hits to dance, to metal, jazz and even a bit of reggae!! I also love to gig around the bay! I love going on walks around the coast and being outside and trying my best to make people smile and uplift their day! My life is all music orientated, and I cannot wait to share this with you when you next tune in! Come and join me as I play some absolute bangers and hopefully bring a smile to your face and uplift your day no matter where you are or what you're doing!!"

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of tragic loss of the talented Mikelle Hardy-Ingham.

Our hearts here at Palm Torbay are heavy as we mourn the devastating loss of a bright light in the radio world. Mikelle Hardy-Ingham was just 16 years old and brought so much passion and energy to the airwaves, touching countless listeners with her unique style and talent. Our thoughts go out to all of Mikelle's family and friends on this very difficult day 🤍.

Tonight, in honour of Mikelle, we will be airing a very special tribute show featuring a re-broadcast of 'The Mikelle Hardy Show' originally aired on Palm Torbay on the 15th May 2024. This 1 hour show will offer a chance for all who knew Mikelle to celebrate how talented, unique and special a person she was, including some of her unique sense of humour and fascinating banter. The show will also feature a tribute from our Station Manager - Jay Richards.

We have some schedule changes coming to Friday and Tuesday evenings here at Palm Torbay!

Tonight from 7.10pm will sadly be the last edition of 'Feelgood Friday' with Sam Beer & Charlotte Devon as they will be bringing you two brand new shows to Tuesday evenings!

Starting Tuesday 10th June from 7.10-9pm Sam will be bringing you his new show 'The Evening Show - Sunset Vibes'! In this new show Sam will be playing you two hours of summery tunes to soundtrack golden hour as we head into the warmest months of the year! 🌞

From 9pm on Tuesday Charlotte Devon will be bringing you a new 'Noughties at Nine' show where Char will play you an hour of the best music from the 2000's, expect to hear pop bangers and unforgettable classics!

Starting next Friday 13th June between 7.10pm-9pm will be 'Palm Torbay Party Anthems' - two hours of the best upbeat party tunes uninterrupted to start your weekend off with a bang! 🕺🪩💃
