I’ve been a little quiet lately… but for good reason.

Behind the scenes, there’s been a whole lot of rethinking, refining, rebranding... and a few too many coffees while figuring out what the next chapter of RFVA really looks like.

The truth? It's never felt good showing up just for the sake of it. It feels off. And honestly, I needed to create space to look at the bigger picture, our message, our offers, and who we’re best placed to serve as we grow into a different model that feels aligned, not rushed.

Sometimes stepping back doesn’t mean stopping completely. It means slowing down just enough to listen, refocus, and make sure the work you are doing is intentional.

So, while we’re mid-transition, I’ll be sharing the same clarity-led tips and honest insights that have been helping us behind the scenes, to help you simplify your marketing and reconnect with what actually works.

Instagram’s been busy again 👀

Have you seen Instagram’s latest updates? There are a few worth knowing about, especially if you’re trying to make your content feel a little smoother and more intentional.

Highlights are getting their own dedicated tab, which will make your main profile feed look cleaner and more focused while keeping your Stories easy to find. It’s not live for everyone yet (I don’t have it!), so don’t stress if you’re not seeing it.

You can now link Reels together, making it easier to build a mini-series or storytelling threads that guide your audience through a journey. It’s a simple way to strengthen connections and boost watch time, and I think this one will be useful.

And not so new, but in case you missed it, you can now add collaborators and music to carousel and static posts after posting. A small update, but a massive help for anyone who values a smoother creative process.

These features are rolling out gradually, so don’t panic if your app hasn’t caught up yet. In the meantime, keep focusing on what always matters most... clarity in your message and consistency in your story.

Because the tools will always evolve, but your voice is still what makes people stop scrolling.

Not Every Business Needs the Big Package!

Not every client I work with needs the full strategy, weekly content planning, or daily engagement. Some just need a little support at the right moment, in the right way.

Take one of my clients who is a professional organisation. (I don't mind helping outside of my main scope of work... if I have the skills to do it.)

Recently, I've had the chance to work on a team for an exciting campaign with an agency I freelance with in Exeter.

Their client is a UK-based heritage organisation that runs annual campaigns to celebrate and preserve a rich part of our cultural identity with a vibrant network of regional organisations and passionate individuals behind it.

This campaign has been a full-spectrum project that pushed me creatively and strategically in the best of ways.

My client set the core strategy, and from there, we:

🎯Created content around the weekly themes into digestible, story-led content with a focus on pulling in the community and encouraging them to get involved and share their stories with us.

🎯Creating graphics to suit the tone and theme of each post and story slide sets using available brand assets

🎯Managed the social media channels throughout the campaign

🎯Monitored conversations, encouraged community interaction, and searched out relevant content to amplify the campaign message

🎯Engaged directly with the community to make it feel alive

The goal was to bring people together through stories, style, and nostalgia, and we've seen positive engagement, conversations unfolding in the comments, and stories from people who care deeply about preserving their history.

It's been fast-paced but incredibly rewarding and a reminder that community campaigns require more than a content calendar. They need intention, flexibility, and a whole lot of heart.
