The Hunt Family have been making cider in South Devon since 1805. We can still be found at Broadleigh Farm today and still use the orchards that have nestled in this area for more than 200 years.

πŸŽ‰ Today was all about festive fun! We had the pleasure of sponsoring a local wreath-making event with our neighbors. 🌟 Christine Hunt led the creative side while Annette served her delicious mulled cider and local pasties. We helped raise a fantastic Β£305 for the Torbay and South Devon Paediatric Diabetes Fund! πŸ’– Now, our community is full of beautiful, Christmassy doors. πŸŽ„βœ¨

This afternoon we had the pleasure of welcoming MPs Caroline Voaden and Alistair Carmichael to Hunts Cider. 🍏

Alistair chairs the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Committee and he showed great interest in how we make cider from growing the fruit right through to putting it in a bottle.

Their support of family farms and business growth was particularly encouraging.

Thank you to Devon NFU for organising

🍎 We did it! 🍏

The pressing room has fallen silent as we’ve finished the greatest harvest of our generation.

Never before have this generation of cider makers pressed this many apples at Hunts Cider, its been a huge team effort and thanks to the team that have worked so hard and run the systems like clockwork πŸ’ͺ🏼.

The freshly pressed apple juice quietly fermenting getting ready for our skilled cider makers to craft it into your favourite Hunts Cider.

πŸŽƒ Happy Halloween, everyone!

This year, we wanted to do something special, so we visited Daynes Farm to pick our pumpkin.

It was so much fun searching for the perfect one right next to the pigs πŸ– and it’s important to us to support local farms.

Have you found your pumpkin yet? If not there’s plenty left in their patch at Harberton. πŸ‚β€οΈπŸ‘»

🍏 Last weekend we welcomed local CAMRA Members to Hunt’s Cider 🍺

They swapped real ale for cider and what a wonderful afternoon we had showing them our production facility and tasting our range of ciders with a local pasty from Halletts the Bakers.

Our Story

Rooted deep in the South Devon countryside, Hunts Cider are a Devon Cider maker with a long tradition and heritage, stretching back over 200 years. We use the highest quality Devon cider apples, fermenting fresh bitter-sweet apple juice each Autumn, on the cider farm in Stoke Gabriel, near Totnes.

Last year Hunt’s cider had a makeover in the form of a re-brand. Their new branding is contemporary and up-to-date, which is a greater reflection of brother and sister, Richard and Annette Hunt who now run the business. With a history of cider making now spanning eight generations they wanted to stay true to their roots and West Country heritage so based the names around old Devon dialect. Some of the ciders include; Bull Walloper, Wobbler, Pixie Juice, Andsome Bay and Clinker.

Hunt’s Cider is gluten free and vegan friendly and is available to purchase in many pubs, restaurants and all good shops across Devon.
