Zumba, Brixham & Christmas Treasure | Daily Vlog | Wed 26th November (2025)
I started the day with Zumba, and honestly, it’s becoming one of my favourite hours of the week. I come out feeling alive!
Afterwards, we headed to Brixham so Glenn could test out some plastic clips he bought for the new boat cover. While he tinkered away, I did what I do best… popped into the charity shops.
I was on the hunt for a Christmas jumper and some decorations — and I struck absolute gold in the very first shop. My rucksack was stuffed with festive treasure. A good day all round. 🎄

Today’s all about simple joys: a long-overdue haircut, treasure hunting in charity shops, and losing myself in a new series by Philippa Gregory. Nothing beats the thrill of discovering a new author and filling your day with happiness.

Ever had that moment when your dress becomes your enemy? 😱 Tried squeezing into it, got stuck, and thought, “This is it.” Dodgy shoulder and all, I was trapped in a fashion nightmare! But somehow, I escaped — phew!

Totnes Christmas Lights Switch-On | Daily Vlog | Tues 25th November (2025)
Totnes was absolutely sparkling tonight for the Christmas light switch-on. The town felt magical, full of music, colour, and that lovely early-festive buzz.
There was so much going on: a brilliant brass band filling the air with carols, stilt walkers towering over the crowds, and a lady making enormous bubbles that drifted through the street like floating lanterns. The children (and adults) were completely mesmerised.
And of course, Father Christmas made an appearance to complete the occasion. A wonderful evening that definitely kicked off the festive season.

Sheltered Housing Search & Homemade Apple Crumble | Daily Vlog | Mon 24th November (2025)
Glenn was out early doing a voluntary shift on Bob the Bus, and I made a head start on dinner before we set off for Kingsbridge to look at a sheltered housing scheme for my mum. It was absolutely lovely — now we just have to keep our fingers crossed.
Back at the flat, I put those gorgeous apples from Ian and Mandy to good use and made a delicious apple crumble.

Baking, Book Fair & Meeting Local Authors | Daily Vlog | Sat 22nd November (2025)
With the weather absolutely awful outside, I decided to stay indoors and do some baking, making, and watching old episodes of Bridgerton.

I did nip out across the road to the Book Fair at the Civic Hall, and I’m so glad I did. I met some truly wonderful authors:• Mary Elizabeth Earle, who has written The Longing, sharing her experience of mother and baby homes and forced adoption.

• , who has published three poetry books, you can find her on TikTok at

• P.J. Danby, author of a fantasy series. She told me all about her first book Blood of the Nightstalker.

• And Rosemary Griggs, whose historical fiction novels are based around the Totnes area — they looked right up my street.

Back at home, I made a carrot cake (I’ll pop the recipe on Patreon) and enjoyed a relaxed, creative afternoon.

A Day Out in Plymouth & Inspiring Art at The Box | Daily Vlog | Sun 23rd November (2025)
I persuaded Glenn to hop on the train to Plymouth with me. After a lovely walk, I managed to navigate us to
I’d been wanting to see the exhibition Remember, Respond, Resist, and it did not disappoint. I especially loved the Grayson Perry tapestries. A perfect mix of culture, fresh air, and a little adventure.

I am loving Zumba. Had a little jump moment, I didn’t think I could do it—felt like flying! 🚀💥 Sure, my knee’s feeling it now, but that rush of energy and sunshine outside? Absolutely priceless. Nothing beats that feel-good vibe!

A Life Full of Meaning

A couple of years ago we found ourselves rattling around in a house too big for us. Our four children had all left home and started families of their own, so we decided to downsize. We put the house on the market and it sold quickly, Lisa decided that it would be a great idea if we got rid of ALL of our belongings.

She thought it would be a good idea to empty our life of stuff and put it back together with ‘stuff’ that was more meaningful - her plan was to create A Life Full of Meaning.

Our page follows our journey - from moving out - to buying a narrowboat. We share our experience of living on a narrowboat, plus our life in Northampton. Our children, grandchildren and extended family play a pivotal role in our lives, along with members of our extended family.
