“All of these artists have a special place in my heart. Even though they all sound different they have their own spice that really brings a joyful sound to your ears and body. The reason why everything is so crazy and there’s so many different genres is because at the end of the day that’s what I love. That’s what I want to make my music sound like, I want my music to have a mix of everything and for people to enjoy the crazy mix of these musical genres.”

Our new series ‘In tune with’ - features the best playlists curated by artists and maps their musical journey through their favourite tunes.

“I started really getting into making and listening to music when I was 13/14, so my 20 chosen tracks are my absolute favourites from then to now. My roots started with 80s indie but I’ve had many phases, from punk to jazz to folk to garage and reggae. All these tracks have fantastic soundscapes and featured as the soundtracks to my teenage years at one point or another.”

“For the first time in a long time, I had the opportunity to do an interview face-to-face with an artist. On a sunny afternoon in Peckham, I was fortunate enough to not only interview but spend a few hours with rising wordsmith and musician Archy Moor and his good pal, producer Earl Saga.

Have you heard of Bonnie Hill? If you haven’t yet, look it up.

The Nigerian born, Dublin based talent released his debut EP ‘Bonnie Hill’ earlier this year. While it’s a well- known fact that Dublin is no stranger to churning out some of the best talent with the likes of Rejjie Snow and Biig Piig. I’m here to tell you about an artist who is infiltrating the hip-hop game like no other. He’s not infiltrating the scene with what you typically see - his words are full of stories and presence is unpretentious. It’s refreshing and interesting in every way.”

Tours of South London with .moor and is out now. Exclusive interview is up on Unsettled. Give it a read ✨✨✨

“Reminding her ex exactly what they’re missing out on is Filipina-British artist ANGELOUMAE releases her brand new, addictive single (I’ve had it on all morning) 'BAD LUCK.'

The rising London talents polished runs and breathy adlibs shine bright over moody, atmospheric production as she seamlessly combines R&B and Afrobeats, with a vocal performance dipped in London edge.”

“I’ve always been inspired by artist who write their own stories and take us into their world, those who aren’t afraid to let their individuality shine. As a young child growing up in Latin America, my experiences were very different to those of the celebrities I saw on mainstream television or heard on the radio. This playlist is a compilation of artists who managed to garner world wide attention while expressing their personal stories to the beat of their own drums. These artists are celebrated not by how well they can reference or mimic the sounds or stories of others in the industry, but by how unique and personal their approach to their art is.”

Our new series ‘In tune with’ - features the best playlists curated by musicians and maps their musical journey through their favourite tunes.

For our first one ever we have independent singer and songwriter from Scotland, April Jai ().

“Something that I think you’ll notice immediately is that all the artists on the playlist are women, it was a conscious choice as I honestly get the most inspiration from my fellow female singer songwriters. My inspirations are ever changing so there’s a huge eclectic mix on the playlist from what inspired me as a kid/teen to what inspires me now.”

Our full interview and playlist with April is up now. Words by ✨

On the 13th of June, the Eventim Apollo welcomed thousands of fans under its roof before welcoming the talented LP on its stage. Warming up the amps was the wonderful Tianna Esperanza, who we’ve been luckily enough to profile here over on Unsettled, and I finally got the chance to see her perform the songs we’ve previously talked about as well as some new ones.

Upon profiling her in May of this year, she had recently just released Lewis, a track that puts her writing skills and storytelling at the forefront. But she had pre-empted that what was coming next would lean into newer themes and genres, and that it might not be sonically similar to what we had already heard; ”I could say that there may be themes of punk coming on these next few songs, but we'll leave it at that.”

Whilst she continues to play in Madrid-based band, Hinds, Ade’s new direction masterfully explores an alternative, hypnotic sound. Under the pseudonym, Shanghai Baby, we hear Martín getting gritty – her sound is infectiously rough and ragged. Ade has injected EP01 with adrenaline; she leaves little room for you to be bored. In many ways, Shanghai Baby is Hinds’ brooding, dark, and cool sister. 🚨🎸🍒

Thank you, . Stream EP01 now! ✨
