Freelance Motorsport media specialists providing a full photographic and journalism service to motor sport teams and drivers/riders, the media both published and internet. I was born in Nottinghamshire in 1961 and at the age of 10 years old that I developed an interest in photography. I went armed with my Kodak Instamatic 126 and snapped anything from relatives to holiday scenes. Over the years my

passion and interest in art and photography grew, taking travel and landscape shots with a Praktica SLR and moving to Nikon and Canon SLR and then Nikon and Canon Digital SLR Cameras, lenses and various equipment. I then began to photograph motor sport as my involvement in this area grew. Paul Horton Motorsport Photography

As my interest in motor sport grew it was a natural progression to combine both my interests, which has given me opportunity to photograph various motor sports
On this site you can view images from the many motorsport events that I have caught on camera. I attend various National, International and some European and World motorsport events and have worked for some teams, drivers, circuits and media outlets. These have included single-seater, saloon car, BTCC, FIA Formula One, WEC, World Rally Championship whilst on motor sport assignments in Monte Carlo, Finland, Portugal and various events closer to home in the UK. I have gained accredited media status with the Motor Sports Association of Great Britain, MSV and at Donington Park Circuit, a circuit that brings back many memories over the years, both as a spectator and marshal and now as a photographer. I have also driven the circuit on a number of occasions and it’s so good to see it back on the racing calenders. However if you would like to get on-board with us please feel free to contact me to discuss your photographic requirements. I am based in Nottinghamshire but available to attend anywhere in the UK to provide photographs throughout a motorsport season, at individual meetings, or test days as well as motorsport or car related launches, events, shows and functions.

Kwik Fit BTCC Donington Park GP Race Three Highlights……

Team VERTU's Tom Ingram took his fifth victory of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship, coming out on top of a duel with title rival Ash Sutton in the finale at Donington Park.

Ingram surged from fifth on the grid and was soon on the rear bumper of pole-sitter Sutton's Ford Focus, with the latter running the harder compound Goodyear tyre.

Four-time champion Sutton tried to respond and had a further opportunity following a late safety car period, but the #80 Hyundai i30N of Ingram remained in control until the finish to extend his lead in the Drivers' standings to 32 points.

NAPA Racing UK's Dan Rowbottom drove brilliantly to complete the podium positions as he flew from 12th on the grid to third.

Árón Taylor-Smith (TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA), Jake Hill (Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport) and Tom Chilton (Team VERTU) were fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Kwik Fit BTCC Donington Park GP Race One Highlights……

Team VERTU's Tom Chilton took his second victory of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season, converting his first pole position for 14 years into victory in the opening race at Donington Park GP.

Chilton and team-mate Tom Ingram pulled clear of the chasing pack in the early exchanges – even briefly swapping positions so that championship leader Ingram could lead a lap and take a point – before the duo settled back into their original positions before mid-distance.

Restart Racing's Chris Smiley proved to be the cork in the bottle behind, as the Independents' standings leader used the majority of his available TOCA Turbo Boost in the opening laps, while trying to keep a trio of Ford Focuses behind.

Eventually the pressure told as the NAPA Racing UK gang of Dan Rowbottom, Ash Sutton and Dan Cammish wrestled their way past to secure third, fourth and fifth respectively.

Kwik Fit BTCC Donington Park GP Qualifying Highlights……

Team VERTU's Tom Chilton claimed a first Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship pole position since 2011, as the experienced racer secured the spot amidst soggy conditions.

The sessions were carried out in ever-changing wet-dry conditions with tyre choice, track limits and on-track timing proving pivotal to the eventual result.

The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA quartet fell foul in the opening session with Árón Taylor-Smith missing out due to a track limit infringement, and it was the downfall of NAPA Racing UK in the second segment as the Ford Focus squad endured tyre choice and track limits issues.

With rain falling heavier ahead of the 'Quick Six' finale it was clear that a jumbled grid for tomorrow's opener was on the cards.

Championship leader Tom Ingram will lineup on the front row alongside his team-mate and the 2022 champion will be relieved to have come through the running relatively smoothly.

Restart Racing's Chris Smiley and WSR's Daryl DeLeon will occupy the second row, whilst Team VERTU's Senna Proctor completed the top five order.

There was ride height heartbreak for Motor Parts Direct with Power Maxed Racing's Mikey Doble as his Cupra failed post-session checks, and the #88 car will subsequently start at the back of the grid for the first race.

Kwik Fit BTCC Donington Park GP Free Practice 2 Highlights…..

Team VERTU's Tom Chilton dipped under the existing fastest BTCC qualifying lap in the final moments of Free Practice 2.

The Hyundai i30N driver followed up team-mate Tom Ingram's pace-setting performance in FP1 by topping the times with a 1:33.129s – just 0.025s faster that Ash Sutton's 2023 qualifying lap.

NAPA Racing UK's Sutton and Team VERTU's Ingram were second and third in this particular session, whilst rookie Charles Rainford was next up in the LKQ Euro Car Parts Racing with WSR BMW.

Kwik Fit BTCC Donington Park GP Free Practice 1 Highlights…..

NAPA Racing UK's Dan Rowbottom hit the front in the opening Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship free practice session at Donington Park, as his affiliation with the circuit continues.

Team VERTU's Tom Ingram led the way for much of the running as the championship leader remains at the sharp end in almost every session this season.

Daniel Lloyd (Restart Racing) and Dan Cammish (NAPA Racing UK) set an identical lap time around the 2.49-mile circuit to go third and fourth respectively

LKQ Euro Car Parts Racing with WSR's Charles Rainford was the first of the BMWs in the order as the rookie looks to build upon his Knockhill podium last time out, whilst Ashley Sutton (NAPA Racing UK) and Árón Taylor-Smith (TOYOTA GAZOO Racing UK with IAA) were sixth and seventh.
