Sunday was mainly spent taking in the action of the Gulf 12 Hours Endurance and photographing the iconic Yas Marina Circuit and at the W Abu Dhabi โ€“ Yas Island Hotel.

The most iconic hotel at Yas Marina is the W Abu Dhabi โ€“ Yas Island, famous for being built over the F1 racetrack and overlooking the Marinaโ€ฆโ€ฆ.

I was lucky to explore the virtually deserted circuit in places away from from the racing including watching the mammoth operation a week later and still dismantling the areas from the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prixโ€ฆ.

Gulf 12 Hours 2025 Highlights:

Capital RT by Motopark won the 15th Gulf 12 Hours for Mercedes-AMG after a thrilling spectacle at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

An exciting contest at the front featured lead changes and drama as the momentum swung between several GT3 cars.

Denis Remenyako, Michail Aleshin and Adam Christodoulou safely navigated a challenging race in their #13 Mercedes-AMG GT3. After 346 laps and 12 hard-fought hours, they secured Mercedes-AMGโ€™s third Gulf 12 Hours victory.

Al Manar by Dragon led the race into the ninth hour and looked set for a first Gulf 12 Hours win for an Omani team until an unplanned pit stop to refill brake fluid. However, Al Faisal Al Zubair, Ben Tuck and Christopher Froggatt fought back and finished second in their #77 Ferrari 296 GT3.

Grove Racing by GetSpeed made it two Mercedes-AMG GT3s on the podium. Father and son duo Stephen and Brenton Grove, alongside Jules Gounon, finished third in their #4 car.

The pole-sitting #70 of Ferrari 296 GT3 of Inception Racing, driven by Brendan Iribe, Frederik Schandorff and Ollie Milroy, had been a victory contender until it was forced to retire after to contact with an Am car in the sixth hour.

Britains Ben Barnicoat with teammates Todd Coleman and Aaron Telitz finished in P4 in the #69 Optimum Motorsport McLaren 720S GT3.

James Vowles, team principal of the Altassian Williams Racing Formula One Team, stood on the top of the podium alongside Anthony West, Marco Pulcini and Mark Sansom after winning the Am class. The Garage 59-entered McLaren 720S GT3 finished a strong 10th overall.
