RREC - The International Club for Rolls-Royce & Bentley Enthusiasts The international Club for Rolls-Royce & Bentley enthusiasts, whether you are an owner or not.

The Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club (RREC) caters for anyone with an interest in the motor car products of Rolls-Royce, including Bentley cars built from 1933 onwards. From just 11 people at the inaugural meeting in 1957, membership now stands at 10,000. Membership is open to owners and non-owners alike and members are drawn from all walks of life and from most countries of the world. With a justifi

able reputation for friendliness and informality, membership of the RREC enables like-minded enthusiasts to meet and share experiences, advice and the enjoyment of some of the finest vehicles in the world. To this end, there are forty regional Sections, UK and Overseas, and eight Registers, catering for specific groups of models from Silver Ghost to Silver Shadow

Each member receives a fully illustrated bi-monthly 68-page ‘Bulletin’ magazine covering historical and technical articles, as well as all aspects of the Club’s activities, together with the monthly ‘Advertiser’ which offers a fine cross-section of cars for sale. There is also a wealth of informative material to be found on the “members only” area of this website, which incorporates a members’ discussion forum. The Club enjoys a formal license from Rolls-Royce plc and also benefits from recognition by, and a close working relationship with, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited and Bentley Motors Limited.

The RREC East Midlands Section hosted their fabulous Wings & Wheels event over the weekend, celebrating all things Rolls-Royce Motors and Aero Engines. The pinnacle of the event was displaying 44 Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles, spanning from 1922 to 2008 in the Market Square in Derby, which saw thousands of local residents flock to see these incredible cars.

Write-ups of this event will follow in Spirit & Speed and the next edition of the Yearbook, but we wanted to take this opportunity to thank the East Midlands Section for organising such a fantastic event, and promoting the Club in such a positive way.

Featured as Member's Car of the Month in the latest edition of Spirit & Speed is Rob Ward's stunning 1965 Silver Cloud III, chassis no. SKP53.

Despite having only owned the car for a year, for Rob, his Silver Cloud is a childhood dream come true. "I have wanted to own a car like this for 40 years," Rob said. "I had pictures of cars like this on my bedroom wall as a child, so to own this car is really special."

A couple of weeks ago, the Paulerspury Section enjoyed a superb day out in Great Dunmow, visiting our friends at P&A Wood.

The tour included the workshop and showrooms, and Members were delighted to see a range of fabulous cars, including the Wood family's DeCauville, which took pride of place in the celebration tent at the RREC Annual Rally 2024.

Our Members always enjoy visiting P&A Wood, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for being so hospitable.

Thanks to Steven Murray for sharing these photos.

Last month, 17 Members of the West Midlands Section visited the Wedgwood factory, where they enjoyed an interesting tour of the facility. This included an explanation of how Jasper- and China-wear are manufactured, fired and decorated, and Members were particularly interested to see items that were finished with 22 carat gold.

Thanks to Bob Hughes for sharing these photos with us.

On 5 April, the RREC French Section held their General Assembly. The participants met in the prestigious setting of the Cercle de l'Union Interalliée, located right next to the British Embassy and a few steps from the Elysée Palace.

The board of directors presented its 2024 review and its plans for 2025 before proceeding to the vote, following which it was re-elected.

The French Section's President, Pascal de La Morinerie, has therefore been reappointed for a second term at the head of the French section.

The evening continued with a champagne aperitif offered by our sponsor V***e Clicquot in the gardens of this 18th-century mansion in bright sunshine and unusually warm weather for the season, and ended with a gourmet dinner in the magnificent dining rooms for the forty or so guests present.

The French Section is now ready to roll out its programme of outings for the year 2025, which will begin on 26 April with a lunch at the Manoir de Verzy, near Reims.

• Front row (from left to right): Pierre-Henri Hanoune (Secretary-General); Pascal de La Morinerie (President); Pierre d'Allest (former President); Pierre Chrétien (telephone line)
• Back row (from left to right): Benoît Dujardin (Communication); Christian Herr (Treasurer); Jean-Philippe Secordel Martin (former President, Vice President)

Our thanks to Benoit Dujardin for sharing these photos with us.

Featured as Member Car of the Month in this month's Spirit & Speed is Robert Stenhouse and his 1999 Silver Seraph, chassis no. XCH02251.

Robert's association with Rolls-Royce cars started in 1992, when he purchased a Silver Shadow II. Shortly afterwards, he bought a Silver Spirit, and 8 years ago purchased this particular car.

"The highlight of owernship was at the RREC Annual Rally [2024], when our Seraph was awarded the 'Most Elegant in Class'", Robert said.

You can read the full article on this fabulous car in Spirit & Speed, on p54.

On 22 March, there was a three-Section lunch, which took place at the wonderful venue of Horsted Place Hotel near Uckfield in East Sussex.

Organised by the South Eastern Section as a joint event with Central Southern and Surrey, around 30 cars and over 60 members enjoyed a delicious lunch together.
