The hardest time with grief.

Friends,

I want to tell you about something I have been quietly working on for a long time.

It is called The First 30 Days: A Grief Companion.

It is a book for the first hard month after a loss. Not a self-help book. Not a how-to. Not ten steps to healing or five stages to work through.
Just a companion.
One page a day for thirty days, sitting beside you.

Each page holds an original poem I wrote, a small line from my work as a Grief Coach, a gentle prompt with room to write, a tiny practice you can do in under a minute, and a permission slip for whatever the day is asking of you.

Some days that permission is to rest.
Some days it is to cry in the supermarket carpark.
Some days it is to laugh at something and not feel guilty for the laughing.

Inside the book you will also find a page for very hard days, a place to write the name of the person you have lost, three weekly reflections to look back and breathe, sixteen lined notes pages for the words that arrive at odd hours, and a closing letter from me for the end of the month.

I wrote it because I have sat in that first month myself, and I have now sat with many others sitting in theirs, and I know what those thirty days do not need. They do not need advice. They do not need timelines. They do not need someone telling you where you should be by now. They need company. A candle that stays lit while you sit in the dark. A small book that says, *I know, I know, I know,* and asks nothing back.
